new HD versions are available for some titles

Just checked and Crouching Tiger is now available in HD. Vertical Limit and Snatch still SD though. Those are some of the ones I had, sucks cause i just bought the CTHD bluray maybe two weeks ago thinking it would never happen.

So my point is that you guys waiting for HD versions you may want to check again and not give up hope. The wait now begins for LOTR Extended Editions .

Could a moderator comment on whether the other Lord of the Rings Extended Editions will be encoded in HDX and more importantly whether the blu-ray set will be added to the DSD service once they are? I have the Blu-ray set that came out previously to handing out VUDU codes with the newer releases, so I would love to be able to add them to my locker. Thank you.

They are all being encoded in HDX - I think there may have been a problem with the source so the others are still in progress.

I don't know if the set will be offered as a bundle, but they are enabled for UV/D2D now individually. My *guess* would be if (after they are all made available on VUDU) you take the individual BDs in the set in and treat them as separate movies the Walmart store would add them via D2D. Just be careful to make sure you get the right ones added, as there seem to be a dizzying number of DVD & BD SKUs for LOTR

Last I checked yesterday vudu had not added the blu rays to d2d, only the DVDs so it would cost $5 to d2d.

Yes that was more my question...would the extended blu-rays be added so that we wouldn't have to pay $5 to add them to our digital locker? They are right, only the extended DVDs are in D2D currently.

Ah, I see that now - I can't say for sure beyond "I would think so" as you are already able to get the HDX version from the DVD, so I wouldn't think it's a licensing issue...

Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow is now HDX. It was SD only previously.

Love the fact that Fellowship and Two Towers Extended are now HD on D2D, but the problem is it doesn't give you the Blu-Ray option. The only way to do these D2D is to select DVD and pay $5 instead of $2 for using your Blu-Rays. Any way we can get this fixed? Maybe Jake or one of the other MODs could check on this? Thanks!

Scarface (1983) is now available in HD.

IIRC, it was previously available only in SD.

Is there anyway to take already stamped blu-rays back to Walmart to get the HDX copy? I have about 500 D2D movies I did when the service first came out. Most of them are HDX but there are a few that were only SD back then and now they are HDX.

If you can remove the stamp, I don't see why you couldn't? I have a couple movies like Resident Evil & Resident Evil Extinction that I have not D2D because for some reason thy don't have the HD version... I'm holding out on those till they do offer it...

Alcohol and cotton ball will remove it.

One of the Walmart minions stamped the front of some of my discs. I wonder if I can use alcohol to get it off?
