    DARK KNIGHT RISES BONUS FEATURES!

The first time I redeemed The Dark Knight Rises from Flixster I used an HD Blu Ray code which I purchased from New Age Flix. My UV account and my Flixster account shows I have the Dark Knight Rises with the bonus features but my Vudu shows the movie in HDX without the bonus features?

My son wanted the blu ray disc, so I bought the blu ray at Wal-Mart last night. The blu ray comes with the bonus featuretts. I came to Vudu to redeem the UV code from my blu ray disc but I still don't have a copy of Dark Knight Rises with the bonus features. If I buy the movie with bonus features on my Vudu, I'll probably have both versions of the movie, with and without bonus features. I should not have to do that since I've already purchased the movie with bonus features on blu ray.

Very few of the codes from Blurays and DVDs give you bonus features on Vudu.

Ghost Protocol, Snow White and the Huntsman, The Hunger Games all redeemed with their bonus features.

The Dark Knight Rises was set up with two versions, with and without, so if you want the bonus features for live streaming, you'll have to spend more money to get them. I already bought rights to them once is my point. My UV and Flixster account have shown up with bonus features as they should have.

I didn't get the Dark Knight Rises bonus features on my Vudu either. I redeemed the UV code from the Target-exclusive blu-ray digibook.

Has any one watched the movie yet on Vudu?
It has the same issue The Dark Knight has when it comes to the IMAX filmed scenes. They stay in the same letterbox format.

Yes, the movie is shown in only the one aspect ratio, it doesn't switch to full screen HD for the IMAX scenes.

That burns my azz. I am a huge fan of changing aspect ratios in movies (not that there are many).

Looks to me like the movie was set up in two versions. One for people who redeem a UV code and you'll get no bonus features. Have to spend 19.99 + tax to get the version of Dark Knight Rises with bonus features directly from Vudu.

I've bought several movies on Amazon instant movies over the past few months and don't have pay tax but do have to pay tax on Vudu. Why is that I wonder? If a movie is 9.99 on Amazon, it's 9.99. On Vudu it's 9.99 + tax = 10.59. Wondering why one vendor is not charging tax and one is?

Vudu is owned by Wal-mart which has at least 1 property in each state so they have to collect tax at the time of purchase. On your Amazon Instant movies technically you are suppose to pay the tax at the end of the year with your state income tax. I personally don't think it is that big of a deal in small amounts that state auditors would try to prove case. I am not giving legal advice.

It depends on the tax laws in your state (some tax digital downloads, some don't) and whether or not the seller has a physical presence there, among other things.

It's a pretty insanely complicated set of laws and tax rates that can vary by state, county, city, even local school district...

I'm guessing this would probably be hard to do for a streaming video file ?

That explains it. Wal-Mart has a huge physical presence in PA. We pay a 6 percent sales tax on things that aren't considered a necessity. Groceries aren't taxed but prepared food at the deli is taxed. Clothes and shoes aren't taxed but bathing suits and evening dresses are! LOL

Some of our cable customer's have to pay a franchise fee, a tax charged by their local municipality on their cable service. No tax on internet though. Not yet anyway. Thanks for the info Jake.
