IMO The HOUSEHOLD itself is NOT "an account" because the account is comprised of the users inside the group...

This is how they think of it:

    ACCOUNT
    --Member 1
    --Member 2
    --Member 3
    --Member 4
    --Member 5
    --Member 6

This is how I think of it though (and many others)

    HOUSEHOLD
    --Account 1 (Member 1)
    --Account 2 (Member 2)
    --Account 3 (Member 3)
    --Account 4 (Member 4)
    --Account 5 (Member 5)
    --Account 6 (Member 6)

For them to say that "an account" is the entire UV group.. that's not right... When I log into UVVU.com, I don't log into "HOUSEHOLD ACCOUNT", I log into my "PERSONAL ACCOUNT" (Member 1). Since I log into my PERSONAL ACCOUNT, one would think that THAT would be classified as an account, not the un-log-in-able "HOUSEHOLD". Think about it, only members of a group can change the groups attributes. Each member being an account. The group... should NOT be what is controlling limitations as that is BS
Using your examples it would work as follows

    Member #1
    --1) Vudu
    --2) Cinemanow
    --3) Flixster

    Member #2
    --1) Vudu
    --2) Cinemanow

I agree, there's some services that I can't view a movie (Shrek for instance) on flixster or I can't watch my Game of Thrones that I unlocked on Flixster in Vudu. So I'm tied to those two services pretty much. So I can only have 1 other household member use either of those accounts. That seems ridiculous! What's worse now is I'm down to one link and it's not even my own!!!!

I bought into the format due to wanting to get away from a closed model like iTunes where I was locked to certain devices. Now I find that I have device choice but limit on how many account members can link. Beginning to feel I wasted my money/time converting discs I OWN! Then there's limits on downloads, I can download a movie to my phone and ipod then locked on any more downloads for ANYONE on the account. WTH?!?

Its only saving grace would be a UV direct service where you don't have to link other than where the account resides. Who knows when that will come out.

That's where things get confusing. Each member gets 5 devices but there can only be 12 devices total (on UV) and two members on vudu. So my 5 year old son needs his own UV account?

Does your 5 year old need his own UV Account? I think so. Sounds like account overkill but once you link your 5 year olds VUDU account as 1 of your UVVU member you can use "Parental Controls" in UVVU to restrict your R Rated movies. At least the VUDU accounts are free and you do not have to ever add a credit card to it.

I'm not doing this but I think that's how it works.

This is why I think vudu should add the ability for us to create custom profiles, with separate parental controls, and devices for each profile.

I submitted a request to UV to implement user-selectable 'pushing' of UV titles to accounts...for instance: If you are the main account and set a child up as a sub-account, you could individually select items to push to the child's account.

Edit: I want this so I could do it the other way...I have no desire to see my Nephew and Nieces' shows in my Vudu, should I add my brother to my UV.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole thing of how you are supposed to link VUDU with UV and where / how to group / create accounts in UV.

If you have multiple Vudu Accounts that you want to somehow bridge through UV so that one Vudu account can view it's own collection as well as those of others, whats the best way to structure this???

From my experience, the whole limit of 2 permanent links to a streaming service seems to just be with VUDU and not other streaming service providers. When I was unable to create a permanent link between VUDU and UV I decided to try it with Flixster. I was the 4th member on the account to create the link and had no problem linking with Flixster, I am just having problems with VUDU. Has anyone else ever tried linking more than 2 members to another streaming service (i.e. CinemaNow, Paramount, etc.)?
