Re: Vudu to launch it's own at home D2D service!

Did anyone else just get an email invitation from VUDU to join the home-based D2D service? I just did! Sadly it appears to be Windows only for now (Mac "coming soon") but I'm about to give the beta VUDUToGo app a spin on my MacBook Pro using Parallels Desktop 8...

So to be fair... for the BETA, we pooled a small percentage of users to test the program before complete roll out. I am surprised so many of you in this thread got the invite as it was pooled completely by random.

Very happy to be one of the first, so THANK YOU! Any ETA on Mac support...?

Thanks! I got the email too!. However I am at work right now so cant test it till later.

Are blu-ray discs working for this now or is it just DVDs for the time being?

It's hard to keep something quiet if it's on the internet. Unless you require a passcode to download the beta, and make all the beta testers sign a non disclosure agreement, it's gonna get out there. I expect some heavy forum traffic in the next few days.

I'd rather a great product then a forced jumbled half *** "I got to meet a deadline" product.... I say take you're time and give a flawless D2D app so that when it does come out we can talk about how great it is, then how buggy it is.

To quote McDonald's, "I'm lovin' it!" Just did 2 DVDs and 2 Blu-rays without a hitch, and the shopping cart is a slick touch compared to CinemaNow and Flixster (insert disc, add to cart, eject and repeat, then click to pay for them all at once).

My wife will be cursing the name "VUDU" because I'm about to spend a small fortune with you guys... LOL

If only it was for Mac right now too...but hey I still need to buy an external Blu-Ray disc drive so I can actually convert the discs I own.

Guess my brother (who has the majority of the Blu-Ray discs, along with a PC and Blu-Ray drive) will have to take the brunt of the responsibility on this for now...

Got the email, installed, and converted two titles to HDX:

                                PRIVATE PARTS (WARNER) (1972)
                                POINT BLANK (WARNER) (1967)

Two films on your D2D conversion list that I tried, however, would not convert. It said something like "Error in selecting conversion format." These were:

                                THE EIGER SANCTION (Universal)
                                THE PARALLAX VIEW (Paramount)

                                I'll try them again later.

Thanks for randomly selecting me as one of the first! It's going to be a very long, and very expensive, night for me!
