Re: VUDU's new home D2D is live

It worked just fine for me. I only had two eligible titles left to convert though. They were both Fox titles. Out of the twelve non-Disney titles I have left, 6 are Dreamworks, distributed by Paramount and WB. I wish they would add them. Two of them are UV. I'm also hoping for MGM soon. I don't have any of their DVD's, but I would purchase them EST if UV.

It's working good for me so far and I'm using an external BD drive on my PC running Windows 7.

Tried out 5 BDs, 4 of them came up. The one that did not come up is CELLULAR. It's on the list so I'm sure it will get corrected soon.

This is a much more efficient application than Flixter or CinemaNow has to offer...

If I only have a dvd drive in my PC, but I have a Blu-ray movie, like BATMAN BEGINS, how will this work?

Parallels is that one necessary program that actually makes an overpriced mac useful, right?

It won't until you spring for an external Blu-ray drive.

You'll either have to get a blu-ray drive or take the disc into Walmart and use their D2D program.

I see people posting that they are finding that some movies won't work for the Home D2D but do work for the in store D2D.

Any one finding movies that are working the other way.
Available for the Home D2D but not in store D2D?

I am curious to see if there is an update to the PS3 app to add D2D functionality. This would solve the problem of not having a blu-ray drive in your PC. I'm going to check mine after I get home from work, but if anyone else sees it before I do then please post it. Makes sense to me that they'd add the feature to the PS3 app.

Anyone else notice it's not powered by Rovi? It says it's powered by Gracenote, which makes sense of why it's so much more accurate than the Cinemanow beta. Gracenote's been around a while if I'm remembering correctly. It's what id's most CDs when they are inserted in drives.

I noticed that too and it's what Oppo's (newest) and Sony's BD players use too.

I'm impressed with how easy the Vudu In Home Disc-to-Digital works, it is way better than CinemaNow or Flixster services. There are a few issues that need work, not identifying discs, misidentifying discs. However of the 75 titles, mostly Blu-ray I wanted to convert 69 were successful.

                          Not Successful

I have had problems with the disk that have multipy titles on the same side as well, but when it likes the disk it is very fast. I hope that the MGM titles will be available soon.

It's worked perfectly for me so far. I've done 5 Blu-Rays & 1 DVD so far and all are showing up in Vudu and all but Taken have showed up in my UV account already. But the first couple took a little while so I'm guessing Taken will show up eventually.

But so far so good. Hopefully they will start adding some classic TV shows like Roseanne, Home Improvement and others cause I'd love to be able to get those in digital format at some point.

Taken (Extended Cut) won't import to UV. For some reason this title is eligible for Disc to Digital but not UV.
