Re: Did you get you Twilight Breaking Dawn Discs delivered? Me neither and..

    Well nothing today!

But my UPS Mail Innovations info finally got updated, it's getting closer. It arrived in the processing center near us, so I guess Monday is the day. (crosses fingers)

What's funny it still shows a delivery date of March 1st.

It started Coppell, TX on the 23rd of February, I probably could have driven there and back in less time.

I had the same problem with The Dark Knight Trilogy on Blu-ray. The TOS state that if you enter the code that you bought at Walmart by a certain date you would receive the discs AROUND the release date. If you really want a movie on release date you should buy it in store at Best Buy, Target, ect. and price match the cheapest place or order on amazon.com with release date delivery. The Walmart preoders ship via UPS Mail Innovations which means it's delivered to your door/mail box USPS which adds at least a day but most people aren't home when UPS delivery's around 2:30 PM so your package would be at the leasing office if you lived at an apartment or at the UPS hub for your area if you lived at house, duplex, ect.

My front door has a mail slot that's big enough for a small package -- and a hand grenade -- to fit through.

The UPS man puts large packages in my bush. No one can see it from the road so it's safe.

Mine showed up via USPS. I got the bluray set, and a dvd set in different packaging. The great thing is that both sets have UV codes for both part 1 and part 2. Hope you guys get yours soon. I know it sucks waiting.

This would normally be the case for me, but the Walmart pre-order was too good of a deal to pass up on.

BluRay copies of both Part 1 and Part 2
Ultraviolet codes for both Part 1 and Part 2
The Original Twilight Movie (1st one) on Vudu
plus Edward and Jacob Extras (which I don't care about)
              all for $18.96

Your blu-ray player might need a firmware update.

Really? Why would it need an update to play a Blu-ray disc?

For new copy protections, new features, to fix playback problems with specific discs, etc.

                      That's what I bought.

Customer service is telling me I only will receive Bluray part 2 and that I do not get a digital copy of Twilight (Gee thanks but you did give me the Twilight copy), wonderfully clueless.

How would a Blu-ray player have problems playing a Blu-ray disc? Why would the movie industry use some different copy protection or add features that are not supported by players? This makes no sense to me. I thought everything was suppose to be backwards compatible. If they add a new feature then only those new features should be unsupported by the old players or until you upgrade, but the movie that you paid to watch should still play.

I will look into this and see if we have an update that can be downloaded...you would think this would be automated.

In some Blu-ray releases the Disc packaging even includes a sheet informing the customer they may need to update the player for max compatibility.

For "max compatibility" I understand, but my disc will not even load. When a consumer buys a Blu-ray player and Blu-ray discs they expect them to work. This just allows everyone to point fingers at each other saying it's their fault. When my disc will not play and there is no firmware updates available then who's fault is it?

That sounds about right. The only one I got as UV (and Vudu) on the Complete Saga that BB is selling is Breaking Dawn, Part 2. The other 4 showed up on CinemaNow but not on UV or Vudu.

It would be the fault of the player manufacturer. The AACS protection changes regularly so when a new release is made it uses the current protection. The player needs to stay current to play newer titles. For example if you try to play a Blu-Ray that uses AACS MKB version 25 or newer and the player only has authorization codes for AACS MKB version 23 or less the disc won't play. A firmware update would provide the needed authorization codes for the latest protection.
