Re: Direct-to-Digital list and other utilities (Error Tracker, Redemption Log)

I've updated the Google Docs spreadsheet with the new releases I've found...best update so far, by a large margin. And also, very interesting to see that there are some 2012 and 2013 movies in the system.

There are 136 new titles, click the link in my signature to view them. (And be sure to click the "Latest Updates" tab/sheet. It shows the list in order that I found them...whereas the "List" sheet lists all of the movies available.)

      A few highlights:
      • Killer Joe (2011)
      • Killing Them Softly (2012)
      • Last Stand (2013)
      • Life of Pi (2012)
      • Private Parts
      • Saving Private Ryan (Again)
      • Scooby-Doo! Music of the Vampire)
      • Trekkies
      • Jack Reacher (2012)
      • Rises of the Guardians (2012)
      • Searching for Sugarman (2011)
      • Arctic Tale (2007)
      • Cabin in the Woods (2012)
      • Dredd (2012)
      • Madagascar 3 (2012)
      • Twilight Saga - Breaking Dawn Parts Blah and Meh

            No problem at all.

And in the future, please bump this post if it ever seems like the list hasn't been recently updated. I don't have it as a scheduled task or anything on my PC, so I do forget to run it. And sometime I'm out of town like this past week, so it may take a few days...but it's pretty simple for me to run and I'll update whenever I can.

The Cold Light of Day is another.

I could have sworn that The Perfect Game showed up earlier as D2D, but when I went to convert my DVD it said not available.

Not sure how new this feature is but the home beta will now remove the movies from your in-store queue if you convert the movie via the beta. I know it did not do that at first since I had to manually remove movies I converted via the program before I went it to walmart to convert the problem discs.

I am surprised that they added Jack Reacher since it came out on BD this week.

I don't know why the release date should matter. If a movie is UV when it's released then it should be available for D2D.

Because that hasn't really been the case in the past. Some movies towards the beginning of the program were like that then all of the sudden they stopped and we were told that new releases would no longer be added because they came with uv codes. This is important because they have luckily reversed that logic.

But not all UV movies are eligible for Disc to Digital.

I know that...I was stating my opinion that all UV movies should be available for D2D regardless of the release date.

Using the D2D system would be better because it would avoid all the issues people have with their codes not working or the UV codes not being in the case, etc.

You are preaching to the choir. I was just stating what were told in the past through this forum by Vudu reps. That's why these new releases are a big deal. There is less wondering if and when a new release will be D2D eligible.

The other thing to consider is that UV is still trying to grow its market share and by including codes with movies they will grow their market share. The disc to digital system is still beta and I would assume only used by a limited number of users compared to the total number of movie consumers. In the future who knows.
