UltraViolet Upcoming Releases:

I know UV is a new animal on the digital stage, but by now I feel there should be an easy way to find out upcoming titles which will be made available from UV.

I really only know of two.

One is Flixster. They have a UV "Coming Soon" tab, but this also includes titles that are coming new to the Flixster catalog and may not be new UV titles. One recent example is "Ghostbusters". It shows as a May 7th UV release, but is already a UV title. It is just getting added to the Flixster catalog on that date.

, but it is not really easy to go through and there are lots of titles that do not make it onto that list. I can site many examples. Two recent ones are;
1) Jeremiah Johnson (UV feb-2013)
2) The Story of Qiu Ju (UV feb-2013)

Both are ones I know of which were blatantly missing from the blu-ray.com list. I think that list is more focused on UV titles that are new releases instead of catalog titles that are being updated into UV versions. The fact there are some holes in the list is disturbing when trying to hang your hat on the fact that is is the comprehensive list. "Schindler's List" is now listed both in Vudu and Blu-ray.com as a UV title, but is not in the D2D redemption program.

I know it has been said b4, but I like to prod when the spirit moves me. It would be nice to have some D2D alert feature or some "Coming Soon" list of titles that will soon be made available in a UV version. The list should be easy to find and browse and also indicate if it will be a title in the D2D program.

Currently, I know of no such place. Pls let me know if anyone knows of such a list. My thought is IMDB or the UV site would be good places to hold such information. Flixster too has a slick interface for theatrical releases and DVD. Just not UV. Absent one of those outlets, perhaps Vudu should spearhead such an effort.

I agree, I would also like to see a more reliable and complete or near complete UV schedule. For example, War of the Worlds the remake is coming to VUDU on 5/18 but will it be UV and D2D? Twilight Saga now has UV stickers but no way to redeem them, so they are coming to UV any week now but no word.

The idea that in 2013 the technical solution for entertainment industry upcoming releases is to have members scamper through their collections and constantly update if they got a hit or not on titles that previously were not eligible for the D2D program and then to update an obscure forum thread and that being the solution to finding out UV release dates and if they are eligible for the D2D program is just not sufficient to me.

It is like we are being asked to run around in a dark room and shot out to everyone when we hit something and hope everyone hears us.

How about instead someone turn the lights on and facilitate a comprehensive list. It would need be someone with access to the information. We as consumers should not be left to fill this role.

At least that is my view.
