Will TV series be available for Disc to Digital? Specifically The Simpsons?

I own the first 10 seasons of The Simpsons on DVD and would love to add them to my digital library. I also wonder if Vudu will be adding more Simpsons seasons as I only see 2 and 24 avaialble now.

    interesting question.

here is "Lego NinjaGo" seasons #1 & #2 new-in-box with UV logos.

This is starting to become more common place.

However, the question is really if we will ever see catalog titles added to UV and become elegiable for D2D conversion.

I think that question remains to be answered at this point.

I have all three seasons of "AVATAR: The Last Air Bender" and too would like to be able to add them to my Vudu library / UV locker via D2D, but as of yet I am not able to.

I also think studios need to get on board with this... I've got an extensive movie & TV library and am more than willing to upgrade to UV streaming, if the price is right. I know it's new and all, but I'd love to see this. Whether or not studios will make it "affordable" or not remains to be seen. Granted I've already "paid in" for my license to view, so see no reason why it shouldn't be equally affordable to "upgrade" to UV streaming in addition to my extant physical copies. Though, I'm not sure how they'd work for disc-2-digital. Since there are multiple discs for most seasons. Would you have to insert each and every disc of the season before upgrading the season or would simply having any one physical disc from a multi-disc set automatically grant you access to the entire season? There are probably still bugs to work out. What if i have the "complete series" set? Could I update the entire series in one shot? Would it have to be season by season or volume by volume? Disc by disc?

Are the rights issues for D2D more complicated for TV shows than movies? There seem to be a lot less of them which can be converted.

I don't think any TV shows are eligible, but you may be correct on the rights issue.

I think it's a ways out... but seems to be the next logical step. Probably has something to do with rights, but I think once they realize this is a new revenue stream, that potentially wasn't there before, studios will slowly get on board.

PS: I would love for the simpsons to be D2D even though they have all the episodes on FX Go, or whatever app that is.
