    Disney/Marvel confusion

I saw on Bluray.com that The Incredible Hulk was just released in a steelbook with a UV copy included. I thought this was a Marvel Studios release. Or is this because it is distributed by Universal. I can't keep all the Marvel properties straight. I already did D2D on my 2 Hulk movies anyway.

Spider-man is a perfect example. Marvel sold the rights to Spider-man to Sony, which allows Sony to sell and offer those movies with UV copies. Those rights do no expire for several years, which is the reason Spider-man cannot appear in any of the Avengers movies without approval and tons of cash to Sony.

I'm not sure if Universal owned the rights to Hulk at one point (haven't done any research), but that could very well be the reason why they are able to offer UV for the new Hulk movies. If they made a Hulk movie today, it would be under the Disney umbrella and probably offered through DigitalCopy+

Keep in mind the recent Phase One Avengers movies were distributed by Paramount, but they did not own the rights and thus fell under the Disney umbrella once they acquired Marvel.

I hope this makes sense. If I'm wrong, I hope someone with more knowledge will come and correct me.

Hulk was owned by Universal. Between "Hulk" and "Incredible Hulk", Universal sold the rights back to Marvel. Incredible Hulk was made by Marvel Studios but distributed by Universal I think.
