I think that's why DanielH reiterated from what he said in his previous post about giving discounts. He wanted to make it clear that we are not giving the 50% discount for D2D transactions done at Walmart stores.

The discounted price for the beta is being offered as an incentive to help us test the beta. This is the reason the discount is not being offered for titles converted at Wal-Mart.

As I said previously, VUDU will not credit you for titles converted at Wal-Mart.
Well since you are aware of the problem, could VUDU at least lower the minimum number of discs that have to be converted to get the discounted price?? (Like 5 instead of 10)

I for one completely understand this and don't mind testing the beta software, however, how can we help if we never get a new version to test. I realize coding is not done overnight. Is a new version to test coming soon, in the next few weeks or so?

I agree, I don't know if the new version has to be the VuduTogo application or something in the background that connects to Gracenote because they seem to be the real problem?

I wonder if they are trying to "run out the clock" on the 50% discount. Numerous titles have been reported with problems, and it doesn't seem like many have been fixed.

Usually a more frequent release schedule corresponds to a beta test time period. It's hard to test fixes if there's never a release.

I took a few in that couldn't read for some reason and they stamped mine. I wasn't too happy, but knew it would be done. I called my closest three locations asking how the D2D worked...and they all said they stamp the discs.

Not going to take my HD-DVD's there to get stamped. I am okay with paying more in store but not okay with the stamp.

Yeah, I have done a little over 100 or so and a few of mine will not read. Would love to have that fixed.

HD-DVD discs are not eligible in the first place...

Now that CinemaNow has their list of D2D movies updated and a new version of their program, I suggest using them for any of those DVDs that Vudu ToGo will not allow. This will save you a trip to Walmart and help spread the wealth so to speak.

I have three WalMarts around me and all three take them. They consider them at the blu ray price.

Perhaps, but you are taking advantage of their ignorance. Only DVD and Blu-rays are priced for D2D conversion, as those are the only formats allowed. The only exception for HD-DVD would be a combo pack or flipper disc, I have several of those, but still only the DVD side is actually eligible for D2D conversion.

I have to disagree. I specifically asked them if HD-DVD's could be used because I was not sure, and they all said yes. I saw that I couldn't do it online through the app with my HD-DVD drive, so as a consumer, I called and asked. All three of the stores knew exactly what HD-DVD were and they said they are allowed to use them. The reason I called three stores is because I wanted to find one that did not stamp the discs. All of my local stores stamp them though. I even went to one and converted a few just to see how the stamp would look and if I could clean it off. I couldn't. The person there commented about HD-DVD's and how they still had a collection of their own. They seem to know all about the program.

I can't take adavantage of something if I was not sure and asked them.

Just because some uninformed employees allowed it really has no bearing on whether they are actually supposed to.

Anyway, carry on. I'm not interested in arguing it.

So can anyone from VUDU answer this request?
