Theses are really starting to add up. I have a couple duplicate movies. In those cases I tested each and still managed to have problems.

I know this program is in beta, but this is insane how many titles are detected incorrectly. Maybe I'm just getting very unlucky on my choices but this is crazy. At least before, Vudu would do support tickets to change titles to the proper format and edition. Now that you don't, it makes this a major pain to have to wait until they are fixed before i checkout with them.

I know some movies are only available in SD even when doing D2D from Blu-ray. I have some of these in my cart at the moment but i'm reluctant to buy them yet. When this is the case, can I file a support ticket if HDX is added for them later so I can get upgraded to HDX for free? If so, I'll buy them now. If not, I'll just wait on them. I ask because I know you used to be able to file a ticket for a title that was incorrect because of it recognizing the wrong format (DVD vs. Blu-ray) or edition, (Theatrical, Unrated, etc.) and now it seems you guys won't do that even with photos.

Ok, thank you. Do you need my account info?

It's too bad Vudu doesn't do this anymore. When a Blu-ray was only recognized as a DVD it was so much easier to just send a photo to support and get it upgraded. Now we have to wait days or weeks (sometimes a fix never comes) to have it fixed before we can do D2D on the affected titles.

Does Vudu still at least change a title from one version to another on those mistakes when it's not an SD to HDX issues? For example, when a Director's Cut is incorrectly recognized as Theatrical, etc.

Now, when I insert the disc it initially reads as a Blu-ray and offers an HDX upgrade; but when I click the HDX button it goes into my cart as an SD upgrade from the DVD. Uninstalling VuduToGo, rebooting & reinstalling does NOT resolve the problem. Is there some tempfile and/or registry entry that has to be deleted before my disc will be properly recognized by VuduToGo?

Thought of that on my own some hours later. Had to "add" it from the in-store D2D page in HDX, only to have it show up in SD. Once I deleted it there, it added to VuduToGo in HDX as it should. Adding other titles now.

EDIT: Found other mismatches while adding more titles:
* Cleopatra (1963, Blu-ray, 02454377459): Disc not identified; reported in app (both BDs used)
* The Fugitive (1993, Blu-ray, 883929330966): Disc not identified; reported in app (2013 remaster)
* Barbarella (1968, Blu-ray, 097361466446): Blu-ray identified as DVD (yes, this time I did delete it from the in-store cart )
* Alien Anthology (1979-97, Blu-ray, 5039036044776 -- UK set, but discs identical to original U.S. set): Disc 1, containing original Alien (1979), identifies solely as theatrical cut of that film. The other 5 discs, including both bonus discs, correctly allow you to choose between theatrical & director's/alternate cuts of all four films (set includes both cuts of each film). And yes, I cleared out the in-store cart again.

fellow movie collectors, please pay attention to who the movie comes from, if it comes mgm, Disney, marvel, or any of the companies that they own, the movie is not going to work for d2d, use your resources like the d2d list if it does not come up in the list it will not work, also most newer movies from 2013 till now don't work as well, in that case you need to go to Walmart or just wait till it reads. everyone complains about the same movies for a reason... read the pages in these couple threads and you will see that your title has been posted about multiple times already, also there is different presses of movies too, some work some don't....so before you complain please do a little homework or research. im not trying to upset anyone, but we all have movies that don't read or isn't eligible, its not vudus fault Disney, mgm are not with them yet....

In using the VUDUToGo (v2.1.0) application for Mac (specifically, running under MacOS X 10.6.8) for the past couple weeks, here are some issues and observations that I have run across...


1) VTG improperly recognizes Blu-ray format disc as the DVD format version (of the SAME title movie), does not offer "Own HDX $2.00" option (but instead offers the "Own HDX $5.00" format upgrade option...and I did ALSO take the time to properly identify and report this issue with the below titles issue using VTG's built-in "Not your disc?" link.)
