Re: In-Home D2D Bugs - Movie not recognized / Mapping Issues

The following DVDs are unable to be recognized by multiple DVD drives on several computers:

          As Good As It Gets
          The Freshman
          The Girl Next Door
          The Last of the Mohicans
          Madeline
          Mouse Hunt
          Stepmom

All of these DVD Disc have one thing in common - they are double sided discs with widescreen on one and Full Screen on the other. So there seems to be a theme to the error message: "Problem while Verifying this disc".

Hopefully someone in the Vudu development team can try and hunt dowm a DVD of this type and test it out.

          Thanks,

          Z

Re: In-Home D2D Bugs - Movie not recognized / Mapping Issues

A few more discs I bought today have been labeled as "Unable to identify" by the D2D software:

                  "Contempt (Le Mepris)" (1963; Blu-Ray; Cat. # 27036)
                  "Camelot" (1967; Blu-Ray; 2000065040)
                  "Amour" (2013; Blu-Ray)

I can understand why "Amour" would not work. It is a new disc after all, but no reason why the others don't work.

My In-Home D2D read my Lord Of The Rings: Followship Of The Ring Disc and has an error text saying:

This disc 'National Geographic: Beyond - The movie The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring - DVD - 2001' is not eligible for Disc to Digital conversion.

                    Not your Disc?

I also looked at the disc and it says that it is fullscreen version, not special features or anything like that on the disc.

I don't know why I even bother with Vudu's D2D anymore. They rarely fix any titles and then add new ones without even testing them. Both my Back to the Future and Jurassic Park Blu-ray trilogy sets get the "unable to identify" error and even the DVD copies of BttF don't read properly. You'd think for such huge franchises they'd at least make sure these would be working before adding them.

Vudu needs to step up its D2D game because once other services offer Blu-ray conversion instead of just DVD you can bet the majority of users will flock to them because they actually work.

I can't get 3 dvd's of 4 to be read by the in home D2D (Double sided discs):
                          1/4- Batman
                          2/4- Batman & Robin
                          3/4- Batman Forever
4/4- Batman Returns (this one was able to work for some odd reason :/)

1/4-3/4 would have an error saying the following:

There was a problem while verifying this disc.

Remove it from your list of movies in the vudu to go app, then remove it from the list if it's there. I've had to do this when I grabbed the dvd from my set instead of the blu ray a couple of times, it gets stuck as dvd if it's on the take in to walmart list for some reason.
Remove it from my "Take in to Whaaaa........?!?!?!?!" Did I miss a memo? There is a list of movies "bound for Walmart"? And BTILC is on it (among several others that have been "problematic")?

+1 Jerry8169 you are the MAN! Deleted the movies on that list and SHAZAM! "Big Trouble" is no trouble at all any more. I cannot tell you how grateful I am (not to mention slightly embarrassed for not knowing about said list sooner). Man, I've been trying for quite a while, scanning the forum (and the disc) over and over but somehow missed(or maybe I knew it once and lost those cells) the fact that there was an list being kept automatically for discs I should take to Wals... The app was behaving like it remembered my first scan attempt, I just didn't know it was in such an obvious (and easily accessible) place. Thanks again!

Lol, it took me an accident to find that issue a while back. Was going to add a blu-ray and take it in and only pay $2, along with others that weren't reading at all, and saw it had been added as a dvd at one time. I figured I'd remove it and try adding it again. It was an accidental find on my part, just thought it might help others since I saw your post. Glad could help.

BTW, that list is what everyone had to use before the d2d was brought in. Make a list, so they can look at it in store to more quickly add your discs to your account. Saved time, and agrivation. Sometimes
