No way to get Lord of the Rings Extended Editions with D2D

Months ago I brought them into a Walmart to convert and ended up with the theatrical versions on Vudu. Vudu customer service didn't really help, but for the price of conversion, I didn't feel it worth making much of a fuss. Now I tried to use D2D on my computer to get the UV copies of the Extended Editions and it tells me the theatrical versions in my Vudu library are them. The actual extended editions are definitely listed as eligible for D2D, but something is messed up in their system only allowing you to redeem the theatrical versions no matter which version you give them.

Send them a ticket with pictures of the discs and a description of what happened. I converted mine with D2D and they had them fixed in a few days.

Once a month or so, I've tried my Lord of the Ring Extended Edition DVDs on VuduToGo and they always come up as theatrical... until I tried today! I was just going to bit the bullet, convert and then write support but the program recognized them as the extended editions.

If you've tried before and failed, try again now!

A couple days ago I tried to convert all 3 of the theatrical versions. Fellowship came up just fine. Two Towers showed as Pan & Scan (Have no idea why) so I canceled that. Return showed up as the extended 4 hour version. Three different methods from the same disc versions. Not really happy.

The [P&S] or [WS] on the D2D app are really about what disc they think they are identifying. I think you will get the same theatrical or extended version no matter what. They definitely don't have a bunch of different aspect ratios for each edition.

This is correct. In most/some cases you can check the aspect ratio by checking the 2 min preview. There are some movies that you won't be able to do this with before hand due to them not being for sale on the service, outside the D2D program.

So what you're saying is that if the preview is in WS, then the D2D conversion will be in WS even though the description says [P&S]?

Correct. The description listed on the Disc to Digital order is what your DVD is detected as not what the Vudu version is.

Make sure you're checking the "2-minute preview", not the "trailer", as the "trailer" is an ad that is a totally separate but related piece of content, while the "preview" plays the movie itself, but only within the first two minute mark.

There have been reports of some older movies where the aspect ratio changed after the opening credits, but I've never seen that myself.
