    UltraViolet TV Shows

Here are some of the television shows that are UltraViolet (be aware that Vudu doesn't have a few of these classified as UV yet). This is not a complete list, just a few that I have found identified as UV titles:

    Fringe
    Arrow
    The Following
    The Big Bang Theory
    Grimm
    Friends
    Bates Motel
    Weeds
    Hart of Dixie
    Breaking Bad
    Pretty Little Liars
    Justified
    Person of Interest
    Hannibal
    House of Cards
    Doctor Who
    Two And A Half Men
    Supernatural
    The Vampire Diaries
    Shameless
    The Office
    Monsters Vs Aliens
    Defiance
    Scooby-Doo Where Are You?
    One Tree Hill
    Batman Beyond
Batman: The Brave and the Bold
    Tom and Jerry
    Regular Show

I created a spreadsheet that lists all of the TV shows and season's that are UV ready.

Cool! Looks like you have some I didn't list and I have some you don't have on your spreadsheet.

Are there new releases for Fringe Seasons 1-3 with codes? Or is the only way to get it UV by buying it digitally?

I would think they would come with a code, that is the way the industry determined it would work. I know that I have bought a couple of shows for my kids that had a code, but I haven't really been looking for television shows like Fringe, Friends, or anything else to see if they now have a code. Amazon.com doesn't seem to be selling UV copies of Fringe here in the US, but they are in the UK. The WB website doesn't even show the UV logo when buying the Blu-ray from them.

You might want to contact WB to find out how to obtain UV codes. Also, Vudu currently only shows seasons 4 and 5 as UV. I would expect all seasons to be UV since they are all owned by WB.

I see the UV logo on all five seasons of Fringe here on vudu. I don't think the past releases come with codes though, only the new seasons since UV started, which would be Seasons 4 and 5.

Yes, seasons 1-3 only very recently got tagged UV. I've never seen a TV show get UV without a code. I think it bodes well that we may see some of the back catalog of TV shows get UV support, although I'm not paying $50 for the digital version only...

I've been waiting on a re-release of Big Bang Theory season 3 and 4 in hopes of a UV code, but it doesn't seem like they're ever coming.

As soon as I buy the digital versions, they will release the Blu-ray/DVD combo with UV code for all others. I just can't spring for the $80 that it will cost at this time so all will have to suffer with me.

My guess is that they will only get codes when they release a "complete series" or a special "seasons 1-X" box set, similar to Weeds and Breaking Bad. I think the only way we'd see re-releases of the TV shows would be if they had enough catalog seasons across multiple shows to create a special series of releases with UV codes (like Uni's "Best of a Decade" or 100th Anniversary collections). The other option could be if Wally/Vudu get a special promotion going of repacks w/ UV codes, like they did a few months ago with catalog Fox series w/ Vudu-only codes (New Girl S1, Sons of Anarchy S1, Archer S1 and a few other good ones). The only downside with that was they were all SD codes.

                      Re: UltraViolet TV Shows

The problem I have with TV shows being UV is that there appears to be so many restrictions from the studios that having them UV is no good. For example, I have 2 seasons of Big Bang Theory (5 and 6) and the final season of Breaking Bad, however I can't watch it on any other service (cinemanow, m-go, target ticket, etc) other then Vudu because it states that it's not available on these other sites. However, if I were to purchase from those sites I could watch it from this service, but most likely (guessing here as I've not tried) not from Vudu or other competing sites. So what good is having TV as UV if you can only watch it on one service?

The same is true with some movies. When a studio makes a movie available for UV, it's like it takes all the services a while to update the movie on their site. I think it should be controlled by the UV site and everyone should look to them to determine if a movie or TV show is UV.

If you have a title that is UV on one site and not another, you should problem contact them to let them know. I had this problem with the new service that was added to Roku and a few weeks after I made them aware that they didn't have several movies flagged as UV they correct it. If a studio makes a title UV then it's supposed to be UV everywhere, at least that is what I read on the UV website.

I agree that there are still bugs in this UV system. I will not buy any TV shows until this problem gets worked out. The whole idea of UV is buy once, play anywhere, and that is not how it has been implemented, at least for TV shows. All UV studio's should be required to license it's content to all UV retailers.
