    Location not matching D2D

I moved about 10 months ago. Since then I cannot access D to D. I am in a country side location. Although I am in my house, The program repeatedly states I am not at my billing address.

is there a way to find out what the app/program thinks my location is?

I been having this issue for almost 2 years with no answer... every time I contact vudu they tell me to do the same things and every time they dont work. It's ridiculous

You can go into Google maps and see. Vudu just pulls your location from Google. If you live in a rural area or in a new home that was previously a field or open land, you can't use md2d. Vudu hates people that aren't in a well established city and refuses to let us use md2d.

If you get the dreaded "location does not match billing address" error or something similar, it could be a number of issues. I experienced this for months before I decided to delve into the issue more and finally get it to work on my own after repeatedly contacting customer service in the last month or so.

The biggest issue could be a need to know your PRECISE home address and have it typed in accurately. The customer rep's (the ones that know more of what they're doing) like to have you use sites like "whatmylocation.com". By going to the site it might immediately show you what's the address they think you're at (also having your smartphone settings for highest accuracy turned on on helps too). If the site doesn't show precisely or anything at all, you might have to give it permission to track your location. Many phones have web browsers set up to always ask permission for individual sites to do certain things for security reasons. If waiting several seconds a permission window doesn't show up, then reload the page and hopefully it will work. The address that should hopefully show up will show you what your location address is. You may notice some subtle or not so subtle differences in the way you generally give out your address yourself. In my case the spelling of "Court" in my address was only "Ct." (if "Street" is in your address, then follow whatever the site spells it as whether it's St, St., Str., "Street", or whatever). Basically saying PRECISE spelling may count. I also saw the site listed my full 9 digit zip code, which I used, but perhaps the site might only show your 5 digits. Essentially use everything the site says whatever your location is. If you have an apt. # or floor # or whatever, you might have to omit or add in those things based on what the site says.

Input the EXACT address as it appeared in the "credit card" section of the Vudu app under "account" and "payment" section, and then enter your credit card information. There's a PayPal account option, but I ran into issues using that as my primary payment. Unsure if PayPal reports the billing address they have on file for you to the Vudu app at all, or perhaps correcting it with them according to the website location. I do know the credit card section of the Vudu app works with the precise address, but when I switched to PayPal for payment it started giving me the location error again (I never bothered to try and check or correct any billing address issues). I do know when I reinput my billing address and credit card again for primary payment, the disc to digital started tracking my location correctly once again.

There could also be other issues with your phone tracking you properly. Some locations have issues with particular satellites giving precise locations, or you could get tiny bits of gps drift (where satellite signals get deflected ever so slightly temporarily, causing them to think you're moving around). Moving around in different locations in your home may or may not help. I've seen repeated issues in years past with gps drift when I would be up several floors in hotels, apartment buildings, or high rises (satellites can get a little funny at tracking someone when they're up in the air, and different signal angles can misrepresent locations). If this is a constant case, then getting your most often reported location address is best, and you may have to try multiple times scanning barcodes on the disc to digital before you get lucky at the gps signals hitting you just right. Plus you could have hardware/software issues in your phone that causes inaccuracies or drift. I've seen a friend that always had junky models or older phones, and games they used that used gps location sometimes had them moving around causing them issues.

It's ridiculous that any Vudu techs (if they exist) haven't addressed these location issues over the years, and allowed for more addresses and subtle drift or slight inaccuracies.

If you've determined a lot of these issues and implemented them, but still repeatedly get location error messages (try A LOT of times, just in case it is satellite drift or something), then contacting Vudu customer service may be your next option. Now trying to contact customer service gets a little hairy at times. The email system has been notoriously slow for years, so don't let them tell you it's because of covid or anything considering their slow responses have been occuring for years. They also have a phone number to reach out to, which in general will get you talking to someone in a matter of minutes. Unfortunately they can only do so much over the phone. If they try and walk you through some of the steps I mentioned, among other things, and you continue to get location error messages, they may eventually try and escalate your case to get further approval higher up. Getting the location error message is an indicator that the particular barcodes you're scanning should work. If they escalate it, then they would likely need you to take pictures of the whole outside of the case(s), the image side of the disc(s), and a close up image of the barcode(s). This will cause the need to send these images through their email system, which in turn likely means a waiting period for someone to respond. I have managed to try and rush my messages to get it in front of someone's eyes by sending the email, wait a couple days, then call the phone number and ask the rep to look up the email I sent. They'll then either advise you of any further info. they need, or send it along to the next set of people who have permission to give approvals. This in turn will still likely mean another waiting period, and I'm unsure if you could reach any management over the phone to try and rush your emails along.

Hopefully you have some luck in using some of my advice to get the disc to digital to work automatically without needing to contact customer service.

I've recently started having this issue.

One new discovery I've found is that the issue is somehow connected to my Walmart account. I've triple confirmed all of my related billing address's are identical.

I've created a new VUDU specific account with identical billing address's and there is no location issues.

Just got off the phone with a CSR. My issue was remove the # from my apt listing and use the 9 digit version of my zip code. BOOM

Yeah, I think I'm having this problem too. I've tried:

Reinstalling the app/clearing the cache multiple times
              Changing credit cards
Changing the credit card zip to include my +4 digits.

Also, my house and address DOES show up on Google Maps now and the pin is right on the middle of my house. I've also tried moving around the house with no change.

There used to be a place on vudu.com to type in a full billing address but that seems like it was removed along with other useful functions around the Fandango merger like how we used to be able to sort titles of our collections Z-to-A.

Anyway, can I get some help with this?

It's a GPS issue with me. I tried using the whatmylocation.com and it says I am at 173 but there is no 173 and my add is 169.
