Obviously mileage varies but both my friend and I tried separately today on opposite coasts and had it up, running, and title scanned and accepted in 5 min.

In my case I just had to activate the camera which was easy to locate as it's laid out well.

My friends experience was slightly more complained as he tried bluray boxes at random by knowing if they were on the list and obviously those that weren't didn't but it mind blowing quick to scan and check compared to the old insert disc and mechanically wait for everything.

You could probably do a whole collection in a couple hours. That said you still have the pickyness you had before and even titles on the list that aren't the proper version won't work. But still REAL quick to do them and get the ones that do work paid for and added.

Feels so much more polished then expected for a first release. Especially after all the growing pains with the physical disc method of years past.

Is there a way to check for the availability of D2D on the Vudu website without using the mobile device and scanning? I don't like to scan using the mobile app because my battery charge goes down so fast that every scan is probably another % lost in charge. I would like to see if it's available first before having to scan with the app.

Thanks, checked and the same titles that weren't available before the change are still unavailable now so it seems they didn't add any titles but just changed the method to get them converted.

And are removing the option of going to your local store for any titles that don't work.

I look for the Vudu2Go app to be eliminated next, as UPC matching has to be more cost effective than paying royalties to Gracenote, and WM/Vudu is all about cutting costs.

Judging by the lists already starting to pop up of their "new & improved" method of converting, then it is dead without being able to go into a store and showing that you do own the disc.

Gave it a whirl. I have a Patch Adams dvd that I could never get the disc software to recognize, so figured I'd try it out on the mobile app. Worked like a charm.
