Can Imports be used to purchase digital copies?

I am wondering if we can use a Imported DVD/Bluray to purchase a Digital Copy of the movie using the VUDToGo APP on the Desktop?

Reason I am asking is that for some very stupid reason these Movie Production Studios seem to be stupidly stopping the release of 3D Bluray versions of the movies in USA. It seems that we in the 3D Community will eventually have to Import all our 3D movies. I have yet to Import any movie because I feel that we shouldn't have to, but at some point it seems I may have to give in on this. So in reluctantly wanting to do so I am wondering if we can get our Digital Copies by using the Import versions.

The main reason why I want to know if we can do this is that I always go for the Combo Packs that have the Digital Copies because our family uses them. But the Imports do not have Digital Copies and the ones that do, are not really for VUDU/Ultraviolet. Also I do not want to participate in the double dip buy purchasing a Combo Pack here and Importing a 3D version from overseas. If I did that every movie would be like $60 to $80 + and even upwards to $100+ in some cases. That is a awful lot for one movie when the Combo Pack usually coat $35 to $45 on average, give or take. So if I could get a Imported version and use the disc to purchase a Digital copy that would save a lot of money and a lot of hassle, for the most part. It would not be ideal but it be something at least. Since the U.S. 3D Community is getting hated on so much by the Movie Production Studios.

Anyways... If anyone knows if this will work or not, it would be greatly appreciated.

It does cost anything to test and confirm for any titles you have. Nor does it take much time or effort.

In general though, no it doesn?t work. Experience will vary.

He said he has no imported discs yet so can't test whether it works. All the imports I have are Disney so I know those won't.

If you get lucky and they used the same disc in the country it came from, as what they sell in the US, then it would probably work.

The only way to know for sure is to test it out. However it is only a matter of time before 3D goes away globally. It is a dying format.
