    HDR Audio dropping on Q7

Sorry if this has been covered, I couldn?t find my exact problem answered anywhere, but I keep getting audio drops. It happens for a half second from time to time in any HDR content.

It only happens in the built-in Vudu app on my Samsung Q7. It doesn?t matter which audio device I use (stereo or TV speakers). I?m also not getting buffering or video drops, and I?m getting 175 Mbps DL speeds, so it?s not an internet problem.

This is all seems to point to Vudu to me. Either the app or the service. Is there anything that can be done? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Can you please provide me with the current firmware/software on yout Samsung Q7 TV and the Vudu app as well. Also include some titles that you are experiencing this issue with. Just to be clear, this is happening with the internal TV speakers and home theater speakers as well? What's the make and model of your audio/video receiver? Please also include your audio setting within your Samsung TV.

Have the same problem with my new Samsung Q9FN. I have the 1153 Q9 firmware and the latest Vudu app. I am using optical out audio (PCM or Dolby Digital) from the TV to my receiver. I was watching Ant Man vs Wasp in UHD. Someone on AVSForum said it started with the latest Samsung firmware.

I can provide a little more information as well on this... My parents bought a brand new Q8 65". I set everything up, updated their firmware and connected the ARC channel to their receiver. Watching Any UHD movies (regardless if I change output to PCM or Bitstream) it gives a loss of sound every few minutes. Onkyo receiver actually does this annoying "Dialog Norm" thing to sync the loss sound Fast forward 2 weeks later, I bought the same TV. I hooked everything up with one exception - didn't update the firmware from factory. Sound on all UHD movies using an ARC connection was flawless... I decided to test my theory and update the Q8 firmware and UHD sound started dropping.

That being said, the Samsung Firmware is conflicting with the Vudu App in someway because watching the same movies in HDX the sound works fine.

I am having the exact same issue with my brand new UN65" NU7100 set. I have definitely isolated it to the Vudu App, where I am experiencing random audio drop outs for a few seconds every few minutes while watching UHD movies. Video is not impacted by this. I have the same results whether I use the internal TV speakers or the HDMI feed to my Yamaha receiver. My Yamaha is connected directly, not via HDMI ARC. If I instead choose HDX or SD, the issue goes away. I do not experience this when I use other apps on my Samsung TV or when using my PS4 Pro or Sony UBPX800 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray player. By the way, the Vudu app on the Sony UBPX800 does not even give me the option to stream UHD movies - I can only watch my HDX movies there. Will you update the app soon? Most of my digital movie purchases are on Vudu, so to have these kinds of challenges using Vudu is frustrating.

I really appreciate your help solving this problem. Have you found a solution to the audio dropout issue using the VUDU app on Samsung 4K TVs?

Are you on Samsung's latest firmware update for your TV set? This issue was recently addressed in late December. The update is available for download for manual update via USB. Not sure if Samsung has released the update via OTA.

Thank you. Where can I download the update manually? When I try to update through my TV it says my firmware is current.
