VUDU APP turning off true motion on LG C9 Oled TV

When I use the VUDU app through my LG C9 Oled it turns off the TV tru motion. This happens when you first enter the App. Does anyone know how to fix this?
When I set the tru motion to on it works on VUDU, but everytime I first log into the app it turns it back off. Only happens with VUDU.

My understanding is the TV settings firmware "remembers" some of these settings per app or even per video mode (like Dolby Vision vs HDR10 vs standard range content). You may need to change it while you are playing back specific content in the app to make it apply to the specific mode (like pause in the video and then bring up settings).

Though note my experience with this is figuring out how to turn *off* tru motion as it often causes really weird artifacts and "soap opera effect" in movies (the feature is really "motion interpolation" where it tries to make up extra frames between the real ones). But to each their own

The VUDU app on LG tv resets the tru motion to off when you first enter the app. When you choose a DV movie it remembers the setting, but HDX or SD it doesn't. Worst part is once you go into the VUDU app if you dont turn it on and then go back to TV the tru motion is off so you have to turn it back on. I tried setting it when in HDX and when I First enter the VUDU app, once you exit the app and then re enter the app same results.

Why would anyone want to watch a movie with that on in the first place?

Can't really disagree with that But as I said to each their own...

Looked into this a bit more and it seems it is being disabled on startup on some devices by our app (at the recommendation of LG) because we found that the motion interpolation processing (Tru Motion) was causing significant artifacts on some titles (blurring or macro blocking, etc). I believe this was just for SD/HDX, not UHD, which is why it's only disabled for the former.

We can check so see if that has changed or is not an issue on certain models, but I can't promise anything.

Thanks. For reference, I using a 77 C9 Oled Model:OLED77C9PUB VUDU APP VERSION 3.0.45. The problem is when the app turns it off its off when I return to cable (TV). This should be the option of the user not the app to set the TV settings or a setting in the app to change or not. I manually go and change it for HDX (does anyone actually watch SD, I still hate that some movies are only in HDX), and it works with no issue. Vudu is by far the best app for movie viewing, its a pain to keep changing the setting back every time I open the VUDU app. As for why I am using tru motion, I find that custom setting between "soap opera effect" and none jagged not smooth motion, these setting provide a much better viewing experience. There are group of people complaining about the app turning off tru motion on other sites. On a non related topic, it would be great if VUDU offered a program similar to disc to digital to convert all HDX movies owned on Vudu to UHD.

              This part:

I think we will have to report to LG. I agree the settings in an app should not apply globally, but there isn't much we can do about that.

Yes, that is the problem. When you log into the app, its makes a global change to the TV. Please let LG know, hopefully they will do something. Thanks!

I have an LG C2 and this issue still persist. The vudu app also resets my filters every time the app is re-opened. Has there been any updates or fixes? It’s really annoying to have re-organize my library as well as change my tru-motion settings
