Can not resume because it is paused by network conditions

Ugh, no matter what I do I can not download movies to my Fire HD 8 tablet through the Vudu app!
I was able to download movies up until ~ 5 days ago. HELP!

I had version 5.4.199 of VUDU on my wife's tablet, and it had the same issue described here. I had version 5.4.189 on my tablet and it worked perfectly fine. I uninstalled 5.4.199 from her tablet, downloaded the apk for 5.4.189, and installed it, her tablet now downloads with no issues. Hope this helps.

I have an Android phone that worked fine until last week. Now I am running 5.5.199 and mine doesn't work anymore. Any idea how I can go back to the old version?

I have an Samsung Tab A and Note 8, I have no issues downloading movies to my note 8 but all of a sudden I cannot do so on my tablet. I have updated the tablets software. Uninstalled and Reinstalled the VUDU app and keep getting the Can not resume because it is paused by network conditions error messages. Anyone know of a fix for this? I travel via plane for work often and this is my source of entertainment during my 3-4 hour flights.

I'm having the same issue on a Galaxy Tab A. I've got several movies and TV shows downloaded, but I've been trying to DL S1E1 of Castle Rock and it won't work. I was able to get S11E1 of the XFiles to download, so it has not been totally consistent. I have a strong wifi connection.

I have the same problem with my Moto E5 running Andoid 8.1 and VUDU 5.7.201.1248818. I can work around it by keeping the screen on (changed timeout to 30 minutes) and turned down the brightness to minimum (saving battery). I think when the screen goes to sleep, either Wifi gets shut-off or slowed down. Can't find a setting in Oreo to override it.

No download problems with my Samsung (2016) J3 Sky running Android 6.0.1 and VUDU 5.5.197.07407 even with its screen timed out after 1 minute.

VUDU app works in a mysterious way that even its support people have no ideas.

I am having the same problems on my Samsung Tab A and on my Samsung Tab S3 and Samsung Tablets S2! These worked just fine until the upgrade in November and yes I have uninstalled and reinstalled on all devices and emailed vudu app and NO ANSWER OR ANY KIND OF RESPONSE after 4 emails! I would like to know if this is being fixed? Could someone please reply!

Read what the moderator stated earlier in this thread. There's a reason why you're having issues...

Does anyone have a real answer to this one, it's driving me crazy with the latest version of the app on Android (not Kindle)?
Was doing this yesterday so I hit it with the big hammer and reset app cache and data (and the data used was huge, way more that what was downloaded, think it might have not cleared previous downloads even though they had been deleted via UI), logged back in, downloaded a single movie and watched a couple minutes to make sure it was fine.
Come today, fire up the tablet again and the WiFi is dodgy where I'm at so no connection. Go to download and wait for the 3-4 'No internet connection' banners to finish. Try to click the download to play but now it's tagged as 'Failed'.

Update, just managed to get to a location with stable WiFi so I joined and re-launched the Vudu app.
I am now greeted with the movie in Downloads showing that it's downloading and has the full movie to download, and yes, it's the same movie I downloaded yesterday and It was successfully fully downloaded then.
