    Account Compromised

So my Vudu account has been compromised, I noticed it today when I went into my checking account and noticed multiple charges from Vudu however I have not rented in a couple weeks now. Does anyone know how to get in touch with Vudu to resolve this situation? The horrible support section and lack of an email about general support questions definitely doesn't help matters.

Also, I can't help but wonder if it was actually in fact compromised or if there have just been random charges showing up on my account for the past 2 months. I will find out because surely they will have the IP of the address these movies were rented from.

    Brian,

You can contact us on our support page at http://support.vudu.com, or by phone at (888)554-VUDU. We'll need to gather some information to find the account the charges are being made to.

How exactly does one contact support via the webpage? There is a box to search existing FAQs, and on your profile page, there is a place where it would list questions you have submitted, but as far as I can see, there is zero way to submit a new question from the support page.

Apparently they are upgrading the website. It used to be there, but hasn't been for a few days now.

This made me go look for their job listings to see if they had an open Web Manager position....but the job openings page is also gone!

The Email support link will appear after you've browsed one FAQ link. We're working to expand our FAQ section.

I don't understand how someone could "compromise" a Vudu account. Our credit card numbers are kept under strong security protection at Vudu. We should be safe from identity theft and credit card fraud.

As long as we keep our login and password private we should be safe.

Any account could be compromised, even your UV account. All it takes is someone guessing your login info and potentially hijacking it.

                    Re: Account Compromised

And as far as I'm aware there still isn't an option to enable a purchase PIN like just about every other streaming service.

Is it possible someone in OP's household is renting movies without his/her knowledge?

In most cases (that i've seen), a device is purchased and added to the VUDU account. The customer returns the device to the store without deactivating it from their account. The store then re-sells the device and the new person is able to rent on the previous owners account, but isn't able to access any personal information.

Make sure to always deactivate a device when you sell/return or get rid of it.

PS- Not saying that is what happened in this case. Just a heads up

Ohh, not good. A PIN would help eliminate the potential problem of someone else purchasing through another's account.

Is this feature coming anytime soon?

Technically, you can set parental controls for all content on devices. That would be similar, but i understand what you're saying. I'll put in a feature request.

I am new to VUDU and this is one of two big issues I have so far! The other being that you cannot delete your card info. you can only add a new one.

Would be a big relief for myself, and others if there was a password lock before purchasing

I noticed the other day that you can now set a purchase pin via Vudu's Roku app. I haven't seen any universal setting via Vudu's web site though.
