Hopefully this works on the regular movie (title/actor/director) search screen.

    It does.

      Key Maps to remote:

      Up/down arrows: Wheel up/down
      Enter: Wheel Click
      ctrl-b: Back
      ctrl-p: Play/Pause
      ctrl-m: More
      ctrl-o: Power
      ctrl-v: Vudu

There are NO other special characters supported. You should only use characters you see on the Vudu search matrix screen.

Now you tell us. What were you waiting for, 2.1 or something?? Maybe when 2.2 comes out, you'll tells which Logitech model you found to work properly.

Maybe we should start a list of confirmed Keyboard mouse combos that work. I'll need to try my Microsoft keyboard/mouse combo tonight. My other combos are Logitech Bluetooth. It would have really been nice if those would work. I have a spare DiNOVO set that I used to use with my HTPC. I don't use it any more so they are just sitting there gathering dust.

I guess I'm the dummy in the room. But if you can connect a keyboard + mouse to the box and all these VUDU Lab apps (i.e. YouTube) are from the internet, why doesn't VUDU provide an HTML browser app on the box?? Then they could also market the box as an inexpensive computer.

                  I can confirm that my:

Adesso SlimTouch Wireless 2.4 GHz RF Mini Touchpad Keyboard

Works with VUDU. Here is some info on it:

My MS model 1027 keyboard and model 1052 mouse both work on the VUDU.
Not sure I would ever use it though since it's pretty quick when using the supplied remote.

At least all I had to do was plug the receiver into the usb port and it worked.

Can of worms - all sorts of websites and pages require drivers (think flash for example) and try to do things with cookies and such. You would most likely end up with a labotomized browser like Opera on the Wii which is barely tolerable and chokes on many things. After all, anybody that has a Vudu most certainly already also owns one or more computers.

Use the hammer to drive nails and the saw to cut wood - don't try to do everything with one tool.

So why is VUDU providing internet content on the box??

That was always my argument to stick to providing high quality movie content.

                        P.S.

The take away I get from this release so far, is that if that if VUDU could provide an open internet interface for content that could be charged for (assuming it would be content people wanted to watch and pay for), I could see this as creating a cottage industry vehicle for internet video tv, much like the laser printer revolutionized the way people are able to publish.

Another way to say it, is that I can see VUDU as being the Comcast of the internet.

But just to selectively pick content and display it from the internet, I'm still just not getting it.

I'm thinking about taking my punch card reader off the market. I'm still using it with my tele-typewriter to play StarTrek!!

I challenge all the hard working pizza eating geek pups to figure that one out.
