    Felipe I have requested many requests with Vudu (some have been handled some haven't) as far as the buffering goes I just gave up along time ago on this issue so sorry I have tossed those numbers a long time ago and now when I watch a movie I just watch knowing that I wiil get buffering issues (sad isn't it). My complaints are now commenting that this is along time issue that Vudu doesn't seem to keen on fixing which is obvious if anybody checks out all the threads on buffering problems which appear weekly.

    My issue at this point is how this is issue is so prevelant by what seems more and more people and how can isp's stream Netflix and Hulu just fine and Vudu still have issues yet continue to blame the customer. This is what amazes me. I'm glad they have finally fixed the Comcast issue but until a bunch of people from Florida complained nothing would've been done. It seems like there should be processes in place from a steaming provider that could pinpoint issues in certain areas with steaming that Vudu then could easily fix but considering customers all over are reporting issues on this forum weekly to me it's logical that Vudu should maybe look at this.

    As for me I just gave up as CS just stated time and time again that it was either my modem, my isp, time of use etc...etc. heck I've upgraded my ISP to the fastest speed Centurylink in my area provides based on what Vudu CS stated with still no change in buffering issues. After a time you just give up and pray the next movie you watch has no buffering or I just move my resolution from HDX to SD just to watch a movie.

      What did Vudu actually fix? Vudu fixed nothing as that was a problem introduced and fixed by Comcast and Comcast alone. Jake was simply pointing out that Comcast was one of the culprits in causing internet issues that affected video services.

      I specifically recall several users in this thread that posted they had Comcast and X1 internet services and were having issues. I just don't understand how you're saying Vudu caused and fixed the Comcast issue.

      If you looked at the article you'd notice it stated the below quote. Also, if you look at the map you'll see the problem affected cities across the country.

      Outages were reported in Philadelphia, Chicago, New York, and other cities.

        Sorry I had assumed Vudu had contacted Comcast about the issues and had worked together to solve the problem as Jake had mentioned exactly what line had been causing the problem. Hence my comment on Vudu taking the initiative to fix the issue.

          Jake has always been very helpful to this forum, especially explaining the more techical issues and I thank him for that.

          As for your statement that Vudu has a nationwide issue with buffering, I find it invalid. Are you aware how many people use Vudu in the US? Are you aware how many different ISPs these people use for their internet access? Are you aware of their geographical location and it's role on how steady their connection is? Are you aware of the many other external factors that figure in with the internet? The internet does not run on magic, some people still think it does believe it or not.
          I believe the term is flaming for what he is doing. I am morbidly entertained similar to a cat with a yarn ball.

            I don't flame but thanks for playing. If you read some of my other posts you would also see I try to help people with their problems especially when the employees of Vudu are giving out wrong information. It's not flaming when you want a company to just give honest information and updates to what's going on. I believe most call it accountability but hey if you think I'm flaming then more power to you.

                Yes, MTR works like trace route, but provides numbers for each hop along the way too.

                As mentioned by Jake, Vudu uses a CSP.

                If anyone wishes to post results, I can help explain, but really they are pretty obvious and the most common method for identifing choke points along a network path.

                  It looks like the WinMTR site is no longer in existence so I'm guessing the project had been abandoned. But it can still be downloaded from SourceForge.net:

                  There's also a dotMTR which is another Windows clone of MTR. Another software is Open Visual Traceroute which is Java based.

                  But with that said what domain(s)/IP address(es) are being used by Vudu's streaming services.

                    GREAT QUESTION. I can not say for two reasons. One, ToU forbid reverse engineering. Second, Jake mentioned CDP and their networks are dynamic.

                    For your dest IP in MTR, check a wire shark or tcpdump to see where those buggers are coming from. Then MTR to there and you will see a report for where the choke point is introduced. I would be willing to bet the farm it is not in the CDN (content delivery network). Those things are built to avoid such choke points at their points of ingress/egress and inside their network.
