Thank you very much for finally adding a "Remove From Watchlist" option! Great work finally getting that done, but it would be even better if when you go to the actual title the start over option existed there as well, right now you can only start over from the watchlist directly.

Additionally, what about adding the option to turn off auto play and not having anything cover the end credits like that horrific countdown clock? Also what about doing something about the controls popping up on the screen when you start a video? It would be so much nicer if the controls only show up on your screen when you call for them yourself by pressing the up arrow and not having them pop up automatically.

Thanks for that Roku update and keep up the good work.

Re: Feedback about New Vudu Interface

Vudu is the worse offender by not allowing you to even shut off the auto play, at least Amazon and Netflix give us that option. But you are right about Amazon's app it is a horrible upgrade, before you could freeze the image and see it perfectly, now it grays it out and puts information on the screen. You can get rid of that by pressing the down arrow on the Roku but then it just pops up their annoying add ticker instead. The trend on all of these streaming services seems to be headed in the wrong direction and I'm tired of being forced to watch a certain way because that is how Vudu or whoever decided to design their apps.

It's no different then cable channels forcing you to see logos on their screens and speeding up the credits, being broadcast there is no option to stop that, but a streaming service has the ability to give us options to stop auto play and pop ups on the screen, the companies simply don't want to give us that option. I've already been refunded the TV shows I purchased from Vudu and I won't be buying anything from this service any longer. The only way I'll add content is if I get promotional codes in my discs that I buy but I will not pay for any digital content anymore from Vudu since they decide how my videos end even if I purchase it. I wish more people would vote with their wallet because it's the only way things will ever change on this matter.

Add me to the list of people dissatisfied with autoplay and disruptions of the credits.
That said, it seems to be popular. Just give me an option to disable both.

Please note I have reduced my Amazon usage, (both purchase & Prime), since they
screwed up there own user interface. The had autoplay, (which you CAN disable), but
they still have the credits screwed up. Plus 2 other annoyances, freeze frame grays
out the picture, (ruining the reason I wanted to freeze frame). And the resume play after
looking forward or backward with the Roku does not seem to work any more.

I mention this so you get an idea of what this user wants and does.

    Thank you for your time.

Heh. I struggle a lot with words here as well. I'm all for the ability to disable unwanted features. Not just for Vudu, but any app that wants to do my thinking for me. And yes, to me, the forum seems to be a lot about, "Company X does things this way. Vudu needs to do the same." Myself, I'm very happy with Vudu the way it is.

I was struggling with the words. LOL more i was saying that my usage and the volume of movies and shows i add and watch each month. But Alas These same two guys post everywhere how much they hate this and that. And that is a right they have. But if they hate it so much Why use it? the Blurays and dvd's of the movies and tv shows do not have the credits cut off and well like has been said here in the forums over and over vote with your wallet. If more people stop buying then eventually lower revenue will dictate features and benefits.

I have said before the credits mean nothing to me or my kids and my family that are watching the shows, and I have near 3000 movies and over 150 tv seasons, Also i stream almost 3 terabytes of data mostly using vudu.so i would think i am the target user. The auto play to me is a great feature, However i do believe it should have a shut off

Re: Feedback about New Vudu Interface

Amazon is pretty horrible now with their pop up ticker at the end of all videos, and Netflix does the same thing shrinking the credits to a tiny window at the end of all of their videos. But Vudu is by far the worst of them all when it comes to auto play at the end of videos. At least Amazon and Netflix give you the option to NOT play the next episode automatically. Vudu forces our videos to keep doing that whether we like it or not. Vudu also cuts off the last couple seconds of the end credits before it finishes a lot of the time because their horrific countdown clock reaches 0 many times before the video is finished playing. So far Vudu is only doing this to TV show episodes, but all of you breathing safely because movies aren't affected, well it's only a matter of time before they start pop up suggestions at the end of movies too just like Amazon and Netflix does.

Streaming services are very slowly turning into ad infested credit covering destroying TV and movie experience criminals just like all the cable channels have been for years. It won't be long before we see a Vudu, Netflix, or Amazon logo permanently pasted on the bottom right corner of the screen just like all cable channels do, next it will be a forced "TV-PG" rating in the upper left corner too. Finally there will be logos running across the bottom of the screen during the program advertising other things to watch over your shows and movies. It is all trending this way and before you know it all the people jumping ship from cable to streaming are going to realize they've only jumped up and landed back where they started. Some might think this is an overreaction but I can totally see this getting worse and worse over the next couple of years.

These annoyances and interruptions need to stop and options need to be created so the user can turn off auto play and never have anything popping up over the credits or any other part of the videos. This B.S. about pop ups and suggestions just because they can do it is ridiculous and it doesn't have to be forced if they would just give us paying customers who purchase videos more control over how we watch the things we pay for. I buy a movie or season from Vudu, they tell me I "Own" it but they cover the end of my videos treating the customer with no respect for what they purchased. Vudu is all pay or rent nothing subscribed like Amazon Prime or Netflix so Vudu needs to be held to the highest standard in this regard.

Supposedly the people that run Vudu pay attention to these threads but it doesn't look like they are doing anything to stop forcing the autoplay on everyone, or give us a way to clear the watch list at all.

Re: Feedback about New Vudu Interface

And now Amazon Instant Video is doing the same thing, except there they find it necessary to put a grey filter on the WHOLE screen while counting down in the corner! And it gets even worse- if you're watching a movie, they now flood the screen with suggestions of other movies to watch next! I guess Vudu should be glad that Amazon is doing that because they've just guaranteed that I will never spend a single penny on their video service anymore, and I'm so infuriated that I likely won't buy anything else from their site if I can help it either!

It seems a lot of people working for these services are trying their best to inject flashy stuff on the screen just because they can, but they don't understand that if one is PAYING for material, they want it treated with respect with NO intrusions on it whatsoever! (At least Vudu has never ruined a movie for me!)

I've also halted my purchases as well, I was in the process of buying seasons of a show but when I saw the forced auto play and countdown clock that you can't turn off I decided right then and there I'm not giving Vudu any more of my money until I can make it stop doing that. It's only a matter of time before something like this intrudes onto the movies as well. Such a foolish thing to add that will tick off a lot of people when it didn't need to be this way if they had just given us control to turn it off. I will not buy anything on Vudu unless this is resolved and the longer it goes unfixed the more faith I am losing in Vudu as a good service.

I'm glad you like the auto play and don't want to watch the credits, well I do. I'm not asking anybody to remove features that you or anyone else likes about the new interface I just want an option to disable them. If I've "made my point" as you say you should have understood that already. Forcing features with no disable option is foolish and causes problems, this thread is example enough of that.
