The most common complaints people had with UV have been mostly solved with MA. Lack of major storefronts, check. Lack of ability to download and swap files between devices, check, with iTunes. No Disney titles, check. Having to use studio sites to redeem codes, check, because you can redeem directly on MoviesAnywhere.com. There shouldn't be a problem with FandangoNow switching their locker to MA, because all the titles that lose their UV status, if they do, will be populated to all UV providers, + all MA providers. And all MA titles will then populate to FN. It's a win-win!

MA doesn't replace UV. No library sharing!

MA has solved absolutely nothing! I have friends and family on UV sub-accounts and we all shared our UV collections. Now it's a guessing game what we can and can not watch. DMA was fine (but still ridiculous), it was understood from the beginning that only the purchaser could view - but now they are trying to monopolize by buying or coercing other studios. The whole MA service was rolled out prematurely, die hard UV (Vudu) members are getting screwed. No TV, no library SHARING, not to mention how much their app and website sucks! Disney just wants to prove that their junk is bigger than every other provider's.

And UV.com can't play anything, so MA.com is already a step up .
Firstly you are mistaken. There are a number of titles that don't stream at every provider. There is also number of titles that aren't MA enabled at every provider (Google Play by far that has most of these).

Secondly the MA app is hardly all that and nothing to boast about. It's constantly down and isn't actually available on most smart devices, so you have to rely on retailer apps to stream content

The whole reason for me for buying movies on Vudu and FN has always been because of the way UV allows sharing of content. Allows people to maintain separate accounts with their own payment details while sharing UV enabled content. MA has nothing to offer in this regard... sharing via iTunes or GP means you have to allocate one payment method across all shared accounts on those services.

lets be frank, neither Vudu or FN are the cheapest retailer to buy content from. UV licenses were worth paying a bit extra to be able to share with friends and family. If/when UV ends, a lot of people who valued the UV service will either move to cheaper providers or just stop buying digital and go stream content instead.

My list of features of myUV that are supeior to MA are
1- When clicking a TV Series or Movie, whether the title is supposed to be SD, HD, or UHD
2- When clicking a TV Series or Movie, view when a title was obtained
3- When viewing collection, filter by movies vs TV (This helps to see movie titles only)
4- When viewing collection, filter by genre (might be useful)
5- When viewing collection, filter by rating (not sure I'd use that)
6- D2D (and M2D) Disc to Digital and Mobile to Digital
7- When viewing collection, filter by Retailer
8- When viewing collection, sort by Recently Added Least Recent to Most Recent (MA is Most Recent to Least Recent)(myUV has selections but is broken both ways)
9- TV Shows and Series are available
10- When clicking a TV Series or Movie, view from which Retailer it was obtained

Clearly both MA and UV systems have pros and cons. Since MA is obviously the future, let's hope it gets some of the best features of UV! Of course, the #1 gripe is the lack of sharing on MA, and unfortunately I don't see that changing because I'm sure the main reason Disney, iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play didn't join up with UV was the generous sharing allowed with UV. Stinks, but a fact.

The only real advantage, IMHO, that UV still has going for it is D2D. I've already done most of the ones that I can, and it doesn't look like D2D is going away. The family sharing is pretty good, but Amazon, Google, and iTunes have that too. They all work a little different, but if your worried about payment methods, you can use a pay-as- you-go card, and just add funds when you want to spend it. It will decline if someone else tries to buy something. I hope the other 3 Studios join MA soon, so we can finally have all our movies on all our devices. Of course, I want TV too, but UV TV are already practically locked to just one provider, because a show having UV status on both UV retailers is pretty hit or miss . None of my UV TV shows ever showed up across retailers anyways, but then again I don't have a lot of UV shows. I also hope that MGM finally decides to join MA so they can release codes with their catalog titles.

I assume you don't own any UHD titles on FN that aren't currently UHD on Vudu or HD titles on FN that are only SD on Vudu, because if you did, you would notice that MA has downgraded all titles @ FandangoNOW to reflect the definition stored in the MA locker.

I have only bought/redeemed 56 titles on FN and none seem to have those problems. I have 4400 movies on Vudu and was only worried about losing some of those

That is the reason I am not connecting FN to MA. I would lose quality on about 16 titles and gain nothing in return.

yeah, i'm not going to do all that. that is ridiculous ! The way UV does sharing is perfect!!!

I had hoped that the higher quality res from FN would transfer to MA. Basically a sync to include the highest res.

Despite my hope, I would expect that if we had a title downgraded on FN due to MA, we could contact their customer support and have the correct version returned.

I would hope that too but find it very doubtful considering they are always asking for proof of this or that and they don't recognize UV as an MA provider. So if it is in a higher resolution at FN due to UV, I don't think they will be motivated to fix it. I hope I'm wrong though.
