ONLINE INSTAWATCH OF "WE DIE YOUNG" - need fixing.

Walmart sends email link after online purchase.

Email link to VUDU asks you to ENTER CODE (see image) rather than adding to VUDU LIBRARY.

    Please fix?

Can you provide me with the order # for this purchase so I can look further into this, thanks.

I don't have the order number - this was sent to me via another online forum. However, we've seen this error before.
Someone at VUDU must have an Walmart account. If they purchase this title online, they can easily recreate the issue.

If they are experiencing this issue, then it's best for them to submit a ticket with customer care so we can gather their details.

I mean - everyone who orders that title will get this error. The error is shown in the image. Perhaps content could take a peek at that title?

That's why we need their details to see if this is an account or content related issue. Having the content team look into this issue without any information would be counterproductive.

I simply suggest someone at VUDU purchase the title (I assume you have test Walmart-Vudu accounts for making real-world purchases/redemptions for testing purposes - to run tests of this nature)

If you get the same error - it's a content problem. If you don't - it's a particular account only. I try to only bring up "global" issues - or I'd make a personal ticket. Once I've heard the issue reported in our online communities by multiple parties - we know we have a global issue.

FYI - this title seems to be fixed. Now you get an UNLOCK icon beneath the title, but clicking on that simply finishes the transaction. The same goes for the title VICE. It also shows the UNLOCK icon. Other titles purchased via IW simply say WATCH NOW. No idea why those two titles have the UNLOCK icons.

Maybe VUDU is testing a way to save on license fees? If a consumer never clicks on "UNLOCK" a license may not be generated, which would mean no payment to the studio.

Not saying this is the case, but it could be a way to save on digital licenses that were otherwise generated, but never used (buyer doesn't want to sign up for VUDU, etc.).

Gamescan - then why would only one of multiple IW titles in a purchase have UNLOCK? If you purchased an IW title and don't redeem immediately - they typically remind YOU via email that you have unredeemed movies waiting to be redeemed.

It was just a guess about a possible test. You wouldn't roll something like this out wholesale w/o testing first. Picking a title that is lower profile/less likely to sell is a way to do it without a whole lot of churn.

Again, though, it's just a guess. It could also be a bug. I doubt VUDU is going to post here on the board about product plans.
