The android app is much better now than it was last year. You can now sort your collection alphabetically or by purchase date and tv shows are now grouped together. They even feature bonus features on select titles. No ability to sort by genre or studio, but other retailers beside Vudu don't have this feature either or have one that is broken. They even have UHD playback on Android TV's, something which the Vudu app doesn't even have, plus superior prints for a lot of movies. However, there is no DV or surround sound options, no ability to upgrade your titles, and no device support for Apple TV. Altogether, there is definitely room for improvement but it appears to at least be functional now.

Despite all that, my first choice to watch my MA content is Apple because of its higher bitrate and bonus features, then Movies Anywhere. However, I still use Vudu a lot becuase nearly half of my collection and most of my TV is non MA or non UV.

iTunes/Apple TV is mostly compatible on Apple devices, aside from the Roku and Fire TV stick. I don't have iTunes/Apple TV on my Fire tablet or Android phone. What are some VUDU and iTunes/Apple TV alternatives I could use for watching movies or TV shows?

How will Fandango survive when nobody will likely step foot into a movie theater until there is a vaccine for the Corona virus? Then again, maybe that is why they are acquiring Vudu.

What's the punchline? I assume FandangoNow gobbled them up into their own website?

I was never on MGo forum, nor a Fandango forum either, so I wouldn't know what happened to them.

I'm curious, too. Some of us paid no attention to FandangoNow until this acquisition (or, in my case, about 30 days prior, just by happenstance).

Whom did they buy previously? What happened?

Personally, I didn't realize that FandangoNow was big enough to have ever bought anyone before, but I'll freely admit that's my own error. Obviously, they're big enough to buy Vudu...

It used to be MGo before it was purchased by Fandango and changed to FandangoNow. I bought a few titles when it was MGo.

I am very worried about this purchase as Fandango's support and technical skills have always been problematic. I've had this banner stuck on my FandangoNow page ever since the MGo merger. I previously merged my MGO and FandangoNow accounts, but when I ran into a problem where FandangoNow stopped working on my Roku and one of their support team "unmerged" them to try to fix it (it did not) and the banner came back, but the button no longer did anything. I tried to get this fixed, but was told that there is no way to "unmerge" the accounts (basically they claimed what the prior support agent did was impossible) so there is nothing to fix. At some point I just ad-blocked the banner because no one at Fandango could figure out how to get rid of it.

I'm hoping that if at least one positive thing comes about from this it's that Fandango's web site will finally be fixed.

Remember when FandangoNow and Vudu promised that if you keep your UV Library linked after UV closed, that all your UV movies will be transferred over/added to your library? Well, many movies didn't transfer for FandangoNOW and disappeared after FandangoNOW finished their merge. When I opened a FangandoNow ticket asking them to check on my missing movies, this was the response I received. On Vudu, I didn't lose any movies after UV closed. Go VUDU!!!

                              Oh, wow.

That's pretty definitively terrible customer service. That answer ignores all of the public statements that came before the closure and the reality through all other sellers.

                              Good grief...
