Re: The Official Movies Anywhere Thread

I just linked everything this morning.

Several DVD Titles I did SD Disc-to-digital on have transferred back and forth to MA and iTunes, upgrading to HDX in the process. (Edit: Turns out they didn't upgrade to HDX, Vudu was just letting me know they are available in HDX)

I haven't seen anything upgrade to UHD on Vudu, even though everything with 4K available in iTunes got the 4K upgrade when it imported there.

It looks as if some of the titles upgraded by iTunes to 4K imported into Google Movies as 4K, as well (or Google is doing the free upgrade for HD content).

With the ability to upgrade HD to 4K on other services, my days with Vudu as my primary service may be numbered

It might have something to do with Vudu, and D2D as well. Under an Ultraviolet sub-account, someone did a Disc 2 Digital in SD (instead of upgrading to the HDX copy) of 'Holiday', and that didn't upconvert through MA. I did a Disc 2 Digital upgrading a DVD of 'The Man Who Fell To Earth' under a sub-account, and the primary account is only showing the SD version in Vudu. This is not an MA title, but shows that Vudu does some funky stuff sometimes.

Some Disc 2 Digital titles that were bought as SD, when only SD was available through VUDU, show up in Amazon with the option to buy Amazon's HD version. This happened to me with House Party. Movies where I redeemed an SD Ultraviolet code directly onto Vudu after the merge gave me SD Vudu copies, SD UV in my UV locker, but HD MA versions on my other services. This was Fury.

Re: The Official Movies Anywhere Thread

From a post I made on reddit...

My total number of digital movies is 745.
Licensed for both UltraViolet and Movies Anywhere - 463
Movies Anywhere only (DMA) - 51
    Ultraviolet only - 205
    VUDU only - 21
    Amazon only - 5

So my Vudu library has a total of 740, but my Movies Anywhere library has a total of 514. Of that 226 difference, 205 have Ultraviolet licenses but not Movies Anywhere licenses. The majority of these are Paramount and Lionsgate.
So...I'll still be using Vudu for playback most of the time.

Most of these movies were purchased from other retailers in HD and they are all UV, but Vudu only has the SD version (such as Papillon, The Survivors, And Justice for All, and others). So this tells me that movies were transferred based on the quality owned on Vudu, NOT based on the quality owned on the UV site. There is the option to purchase these movies AGAIN in HD on iTunes and Amazon, but I will wait it out and hope that Vudu will eventually get the HDX version I already own in UV. A few have done this over the last several months.

Just letting everyone know in case there is any confusion about this.

Is anyone else having this problem.... I linked Vudu to MA. Nothing ported over. I waited a few days and still nothing. I then purchased a new movie on VUDU and that ported over, but none of my old stuff did. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting VUDU to MA and that didn't work. Any idea what else I could try? Thanks!

The Evil Dead remake on Vudu has no extras but people who have linked to MA get the Rated version plus Unrated and some extra features as extras in the Movies Anywhere app as well as iTunes. Someone on another forum said he got his Evil Dead Remake in Vudu upgraded with extras included the Unrated version when he linked to MA.

I have linked my Vudu to MA and my Evil Dead Remake has no extras. I looked in the Movies Anywhere website and in my account there I have the extras which include the Unrated version. But Vudu has not upgraded my Evil Dead Remake with extras.I unlinked my Vudu from MA and relinked and it still has not changed.

A lot of WB and Sony titles are not MA. I don't know if this service like UV, where some titles just don't get the rights, or if ALL titles from participating studios are suppose to be MA?

I'm just noticing. Monty Python and the Holy Grail is not stamped with the MA logo, but it lists Sony Pictures as the studio.

I've tried that, but they still haven't transferred.

I second that. Linking/Unlinking is very annoying.
