Re: The Official Movies Anywhere Thread

So far only movies added to vudu up to the beginning of 2013 have transferred to MA. Hard to tell if they are adding in slowly or if they just stopped at that year. I guess I will give it til tomorrow to decide if i need to try to relink vudu or not. Amazon and Itunes worked perfect though. Vudu seems to be the issue, but I have a rather large library.

I would say this is a net positive for me. I linked my account and everything (I didn't check 1 by 1) it seems like from iTunes, Amazon and Google popped up in VUDU almost instantly. I did a bunch of D2D back in the day so I will be interested to see what shows up in MA. Until the app ecosystem across Xbox/Win10/TiVo shakes out I will keep using VUDU app. Got some upgrades to 4K as well. Just poking around.

I would rather keep these sites separate and that way I know for sure that I'm getting 4k when trying to watch 4k.

I'd keep them linked if for no other reason than to make sure all future purchases of MA titles will port to Vudu no matter the retailer. However, I definitely don't have much use for those other sites if they don't offer anything different. Hopefully MA will port all the extras that are only available on Itunes. Even if Itunes doesn't work out for upgrades, there is now a much better chance we'll get HD and 4K upgrades in the near future.

I don't think so I just checked Tombstone and it's showing in my preamp as Dolby Digital Plus where with Vudu it's still stereo.

What also sucks is MA doesn't have a search feature I have over 2,500 movies and had to scroll forever to find Tombstone but sure enough it's not simulated surround sound but the app was playing pure Dolby digital plus.

The MA app only plays 2.0 stereo

I know Vudu has a ton of movies only in stereo which boggles my mind to know end. I've pleaded many times for them to get Dolby digital encodes but to no avail. Heck it too over five years for them to get the Matrix movies into 5.1 so just curious if stereo movies will be upgraded.
Ronin is an MGM title, so it is not a part of MA

Tombstone won?t play more than stereo on the MA app because the MA app can only play stereo

Yeah, you will need to disconnect and then reconnect your iTunes account, I had this issue with DMA as well. It?s funny that if I buy something in iTunes it exports fine to MA, it?s only an issue when importing in from MA.

Re: The Official Movies Anywhere Thread

So, who is taking care of any issues that occur? Is it Vudu or is there support from Movies Anywhere?

I already notice some titles like Mad Max:Fury Road and The Amazing Spider-man did not move over to Movies Anywhere from Vudu. The Amazing Spider-man 2 moved over with no problem. In my case, out of 1700 Vudu Movie titles, only around 1000 moved to Movies Anywhere meaning only 60%. I understand not every movie studio is on board yet. Likewise, around 1000 titles were added to iTunes and Amazon. I created a Google Play account and the same 1000 showed up there as well.

I think Ultraviolet was not prepared for the amount of traffic generated by everyone's iTunes, Amazon and Google libraries being duplicated through MA into Vudu and from there into UV. Pretty suspicious that their entire system goes offline for hours the day after MA coming online.

Anyone have luck yet with Blade Runner (The Final Cut) porting to iTunes?

I just happy to get all those titles in my iTunes account.

That makes it much more palatable to drop Roku Ultra for my new Apple TV, even though I just replaced my older 4640 Ultra with the new 4660 one.
