Re: Vudu To Go Download Problem

New member here so please pardon any faux pas in my submittal.

To begin with, I have a Dell XPS-410 running Windows 8 with Internet Explorer 10. My problem is that I am unable to load/run VUDU To Go.

I first tried to download and run VUDU To Go, which first required installing Adobe Air. Whenever I attempt to initiate VUDU To Go, it prompts me to accept Adobe Air after which the window closes and nothing else happens. Each attempt to initiate VUDU To Go results in the same request to accept Adobe Air after which nothing else happens.

As an alternative approach I then 1) uninstalled Adobe Air and VUDU To Go, 2) cleaned my registry, 3) restarted my computer, 4) installed Adobe Air directly from the Adobe site, and 5) downloaded and installed VUDU To Go (which, by the way, seemed to again install Adobe Air over my direct from Adobe installation). All seems to go according to Hoyle until I attempt to run VUDU To Go when I'm back in the loop described above; i.e., prompted to accept Adobe Air after which the window closes and nothing else happens.

I'm assuming this is the same problem others have reported and no solution is yet available. Just want to confirm I'm not missing a critical step. /Thanks.

Chrome does not support Adobe Air anymore, so Chrome will not work to install or integrate with VUDU To Go.

I assume you have Windows 8 to have IE 10. The IE on Surface or any RT tablet does not support Adobe Air yet. If you are on the real Windows 8 then you may want to download install Air separately via http://www.adobe.com then VUDU To Go can be installed.

We are working on the issue with IE 10, W8 RT.

Actually the Chrome and Adobe flash have some compatibility issue. If one insists to use Chrome then there is a work around for Chrome.

A lot of these issues are probably Adobe issues. I know I've had a hell of a time trying to upgrade or install Adobe products more than once. The only way to fix that is to uninstall and remove all files and registry entries for the old software (or the failed, partial install, if that's the case).

Re: Vudu To Go Download Problem

I had the same problem when trying to download my digital copy of The Hunger Games. When I click the download button, it says it has to install Vudu To-Go, and to do that, it has to install Adobe AIR. When it asks me whether I want to install AIR and I click yes, it goes through the whole downloading process. When it looks to be done and the download status bar is full, it suddenly says that a download has occurred and if I would like to retry it. No matter how many times I click retry or just redo the whole thing, it keeps coming up with the same error message. What is going on here?

Re: Vudu To Go Download Problem

I just checked a few, and they're ~1.5-2GB on my HDD. On OSX, the location is [userdir]/Library/Preferences/com.vudu.air.Downloader/Local Store.

And yes, I agree that forcing us to use the boot drive instead of an external storage drive is a hugely limiting factor. I have to keep deleting movies to free up space, but I want to keep all of them on there for when I'm travelling and offline. I have a 750GB external HDD that I use for other media storage, but I can't use it for VuduToGo.

Re: Vudu To Go Download Problem

Vudu To Go is not currently condusive to storing all your movies on a HDD, even if you have 4TB, like me, there is no option for where to download the movies, they go somewhere deep in the User folder (iirc), which for most mediaphiles is on their boot drive (for me, one of the smaller drives) not their storage drive. There is currently no way to move the files to a different disk (if you find one please send me a PM). If I remember correctly each movie is around 1 GB in SD quality.

Re: Vudu To Go Download Problem

I still don't get any download after Adobe Air fails to start (why would the "agree to terms" window" keep loading) Internet Explorer 8.

I'm guessing with all the movies I own... inorder to get this wonderful program to work... I need like a TB or two hard drive..? (even though I own a TB external drive).

If "No room on my hard drive" is the reason VUDUtogo won't work... shouldn't I get some kind of prompt telling what is going on and some idea of how much space I need to free-up... IF I decide this is even worth it.

I never expected it to work, and I only want this download because I didn't read the package right... a BD for over $20 and no DVD... but I get some crap in the cloud that that is coming off a server on Mars.

Very bummed, 'cause your files are too big to streem... Not many other video files streem so bad from the web (almost not at all) on my comp.

For Hunger Games I saw, "2 Discs" for the BD package and paid extra because I thought the 2nd would be a DVD copy- Won't be doing that again.
