    Re: Possible Amazon UV

Back to the original topic of Amazon Video deals and whatnot. I heard about this Epix deal but didnt know it included all this, this was on the front page just now:

    Dear Customers,

Great news for Amazon Prime members?we've just signed two big deals that bring you even more high quality movies and TV shows with all-you-can-eat, unlimited instant streaming. The first is with EPIX and brings movies from Paramount Pictures, MGM, and Lionsgate. Enjoy Thor, Iron Man 2, and Captain America: The First Avenger, plus recent hits such as Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Warrior, Super 8, True Grit, and Rango. In all, 2,000 movies from EPIX will be coming to Prime Instant Video this year.

The second deal adds popular TV shows from NBC Universal, including past seasons of current hits Parks and Recreation and Parenthood, plus all seasons of Heroes, Battlestar Galactica, and Friday Night Lights. Prime Instant Video now has over 25,000 movies and TV episodes to choose from, quadruple the number we launched with in February 2011. You can watch on Kindle Fire, on game consoles like PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and on hundreds of TVs, Blu-ray players, and set-top boxes.

Amazon Prime is the best bargain in the history of shopping?and it remains just $79 a year. In addition to unlimited video streaming, Prime members enjoy Free Two-Day Shipping on millions of items, and over 180,000 Kindle books to read for free from the Kindle Owners' Lending Library. If you're not already a member, sign up for a one-month free trial today.

Thank you for being a customer.

But little did I know at the time UV is GREAT! It's in my library here.
Disney is launching their own service, Disney Studio All-Access and it will have apps for PS3, Xbox, smartphones, etc. Not much info is known but some leaked article revealed the redemption will be tied to digital copy editions of movies when you use the rewards code. Disney is always greedy and complicated, so I expect SD streaming with an option to pay a fee to upgrade.

Vudu can sell Disney but they are not D2D enabled, just like alot of other movies.

The Disney movies are not UV, so beware that you will be stuck with them on Vudu only unless Disney gives in and joins UV. I'd love to know if you can download Disney films with Vudu To Go.

              Re: Possible Amazon UV

Disney has just recently launched Disney Movies Online. I think they have abandoned their keychest service. None of the studios or hardware manufacturers are interested in it because its a competitor to UV. We really do t need two digital locker systems. If no one uses Disney Movies Online, they will be forced to switch to UV.

I checked Tangled that I bought here on Vudu. It is Downloadable to SD for Vudu to go.

I can't wait for Finding Nemo, I've waited a long time lol! Looks like I'll be waiting more before I buy it until VUDU allows us to buy 3D and are able to watch it in 2D without buying 2 copies!

Nope. I was skeptical it would be today but still a little disappointed.

                      Re: Possible Amazon UV

I had the same idea a couple of weeks back. I have movies on Amazon.com that are not available on VUDU. Problem is that I do not have Amazon.com on my blueray in my bedroom and cannot watch those movies on that TV.

I sent an email to Amazon support asking if it was possible to share movies that we "own" between services like VUDU (I actually asked VUDU first, but their support sucks). Amazon thought it was a GREAT idea and said that they would look into this.

Now if VUDU will give us a way to sort our movies, provide access to our movies for Android devices, allow television shows to be converted to digital, and allow us to control what movies kids can access then VUDU will be GREAT.
