The 5 device limit is currently the studio standard. We consistently have discussions to improve the user experience. I would be happy to pass your request on to the proper people.

Thanks! I have posted a few times in forums about the link limit with no response. But Amazon, Netflix etc don't have a device limit they use a streaming limit which is fine with me it makes more sense to limit streaming to 3 at a time rather than limit what boxes are authorized to use the service.

I know Netflix does have a limit, I have hit it before... from their TOS (all caps theirs not mine

"YOU MAY INSTANTLY WATCH ON UP TO SIX UNIQUE AUTHORIZED NETFLIX READY DEVICES. YOU WILL BE ALLOWED TO INSTANTLY WATCH SIMULTANEOUSLY ON TWO SUCH DEVICES AT ANY GIVEN TIME."

That six-device limit was lifted awhile ago, it's something crazy now like 50 or more...

UPDATE: Here's a link with that announcement:

I have authorized WAY more than 6 devices with my Netflix account. I heard the limit was fifty or something and I believe it because of all the different phones, tablets, pc's, TV's, Blu-ray players, game consoles and media streamers I have activated and never got a message that I was over the "limit". I guess the six could be referring to a certain type of authenticated Netflix device?

That was a long time ago. Netflix raised the device limit to 50 back in June on 2011. I will locate a link and post it.

Deselecting the "link account" box and proceeding will only establish a temporary link. This is why YDK's accounts will randomly unlink. My apologies for any confusion that I may have caused.

The limit of linked accounts is set at two.
Can you clarify this? Are you saying the vudu link limit for each Ultra Violet account (main or sub) is two, or are you saying the vudu link limit for each Ultra Violet Collection (all six accounts) is two?

When I originally posted this thread I was able to create 3 links to Vudu from 3 different UV accounts in my Collection without any problem. It was the 4th link that cause the "too many nodes" error.

If you could I would like to know some clarification on this as well.

Because when I first set up my account and the family member's, at one point in time all the accounts had and were able to have their Vudu accounts linked constantly to their UV sub accounts I created for them.

Now from the time they got set up till just recently when the problem of them removing the link accidentally and then trying to get it back we can now only have 2 accounts linked to UV at any given point? That's the question and concern, when and why did this happen?

                  DanielH if:
The 5 device limit is currently the studio standard.
Why isn't that just the standard of Vudu as well ?

Re: UltraViolet Vudu Account Limit - 3

Hi, I'm new to posting to the forums, but been using the service for quite awhile now, and wanted to post regarding this topic since I've spent the last week dealing with this.

I would be interesting in knowing the change in account limit after the fact. Especially after investing a lot of money into the service and wanted to buy more titles through Vudu, but then have a restriction put in place without knowing about the change, until reading it here in the forums. This started happening to me about a week ago and originally thought it was a UV problem and been trying to go through their support.

I think Vudu is the best service and has the best interface available, but hate to see it start to get more restrictive and not customer friendly.

Re: UltraViolet Vudu Account Limit - 3

The 5 device limit has nothing to do with the limits of Vudu accounts that can be linked with Ultraviolet. If they have moved it from 3 to 2 it is just another way to crush the amount of devices we can watch vudu from which is a bad plan! Netflix and Amazon have very high limits so you can't say 5 devices is the industry standard! I can tell you now if Amazon goes UV it will kill Vudu if you don't change this policy. They are already cheaper on movies, just saying

No one has the interface vudu has unless other companies upgrade their software and make it easier to navigate I will stick with Vudu. But I would like the option of 10 devices. Or a max of 5 devices at once would be better.

As Prasanna mentioned "This is a limit enforced by Ultraviolet.". I do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Simple solution ... allow us to have more devices enabled! Doesn't have to be like Netflix and give us 50, let us connect 1/2 that many I will be happy I travel a lot and have a lot of devices like many people here and 5 devices is weak!

Have you heard any thing back from UV about it being on their end ?

And I'm fine with getting the 6 back. That's all I need since I only have my main UV account and my 5 sub family member accounts.

It's such a pain in the butt to have to re link during the middle of a movie

First reply from UV they just sent me a standard form type of response as if I was doing it wrong. Gave instructions on how to link. Replied back re-advising that wasn't the issue, and they sent it to tech support but then I gave up since didn't get response and didn't want to wait for days. I just had to bump a few people off from the link portion of my account so that I could get relinked as the primary owner of the account. Just frustrating when new technology like this that you want to succeed starts to get squashed with unnecessary rules. I was always skeptical of going digital and never did, but then embraced the concept with how originally Vudu & UV were where you supposedly could have 6 members and it seemed like a great way to go digital and buy only digital in future. With rules constantly changing now, I'm not moving forward with buying digital only. Not able to trust it. I still like Vudu's setup, but will be less likely to buy only a digital copy without buying the physical media first.
