It appears that the Extended edition of "The Lord of the Rings Fellowship of the Ring" is DD 5.1 so it only the theatrical edition that is only in stereo. I agree that it shouldn't be but there are a lot of wierd movies like this on Vudu. There are quite a bit that have 5.1 on the HD version but only stereo on the HDX version. Makes a lot of sense, huh?

Thanks for your thoughts. Yes, clearly this doesn't make sense and isn't appropriate. Do you know if VUDU has a good track record of fixing these problems? So far I haven't heard back from them despite reaching out to them multiple times.

In my experience, NOT REALLY. They always blame it on the studio which is probably correct but they don't make much of an effort to contact the studio to correct it. When I had a problem with one of my movies, I actually had to make several calls to the studio (Universal) until I found the right person and then it was corrected. I haven't had luck in getting my calls returned from Paramount.

Ugh, that shouldn't ever be necessary. It's in VUDU's own best interestest to proactively solve these problems so more people down the line aren't dissatisfied. Hopefully, things will improve.

What's up with these "Junior Member" and "Senior Member" labels?

The Hudsucker Proxy (Blu-ray) (1994) consistently results in the following error:

There was a problem while verifying this disc.

Re: VUDU AT HOME: DISC-TO-DIGITAL Bugs?

Ultimate Matrix Collection Blu-ray - Animatrix, The Matrix, Reloaded, and Revolutions all identify as either Matrix or Reloaded (asking you to pick which one). There is no Revolutions, or Animatrix recognition.

Lord of the Rings trilogy, extended editions on Blu-ray (single movies, 2 discs each). All six discs recognize as either Return of the King (theatrical), Fellowship of the Ring (theatrical), or BOTH of them, asking you to choose. No Two Towers, and none are the "Extended".

Ghostbusters Blu-ray - Doesn't recognize disc, I have read at one time it did, so evidently some update messed it up.

I had a couple of discs unrecognized today. They are Bridesmaids and Two Girls and a Guy on Blu-Ray. I re-checked and each one lists as available on D2D.

Re: VUDU AT HOME: DISC-TO-DIGITAL Bugs?

So, recognition from various Blu-Ray sets seem spotty at best. Usually erroring out on 1 out of 3 or 4 disc sets.

For instance the Die Hard Blu-Ray set 1, 3, & 4 all work. But 2 gets recognized as Live Free or Die Hard, I think.

                        Transformers Blu-Ray set. 1 & 3 work. 2 says it's not eligible?

The Matrix Ultimate Blu-Ray set, Matrix & Reloaded work. Revolutions either doesn't work or shows up as one of the other two. I forget.

                        The Godfather Blu-Ray trilogy set: 1 & 2 work. 3 does not.

Rocky Blu-Ray movie collection. 1-5 don't work. Rocky Balboa does, I believe? Err, nope. All don't work.

Rambo Blu-Ray set: 1, 2, 3 Don't work (I think they all recognize as the latest one rather than First Blood I & II and Rambo III). The latest one released in like '09 does work.

The Mel Brooks Blu-Ray collection with like 8-9 movies: all fail except Robin Hood Men in Tights. I really only want Spaceballs & Young Frankenstein. MAYBE History of the World I & II and maybe maybe Blazing Saddles, though I never much go into it, and Silent Movie.

Terminator quadrilogy from Best Buy: 1 & 2 fail or are 'ineligible.' 3 & 4 work fine.

                        Uhh, what else?

Alien Anthology Blu-Rays. How do we handle these? Each disc has both theatrical & extended edition. I think they either recognize as Theatrical or nothing. Likewise, AVP / Requiem Blu-Rays: both only recognize as theatrical, despite the discs having both the theatrical and unrated / extended cuts. I'd PREFER these discs offered the choice of which edition to convert or offered a "bundle" deal, like "but the extended, get the theatrical free or for $1"? I wouldn't mind paying the extra $1-2/title to make sure I got BOTH version off the disc that CAME WITH BOTH VERSIONS.

Chronicles of Riddick Blu-Ray set. Chronicles works fine. Pitch Black recognizes as Chronicles rather than as Pitch black (theatrical OR unrated, it comes with BOTH). Dark Fury comes up as what do you want to convert "Pitch black, pitch black unrated or Chronicles; Dark Fury is ineligible." When I click to add Pitch Black Unrated, it tells me I need to pay $5 instead of $2. Probably 'cause the Dark Fury bonus disc is in DVD format rather than the Blu-Ray format of the other 2 discs in he Blu-Ray set. Augh!

The Lethal Weapon series doesn't seem to work at all, I think.

Those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head...

Ohh, and the Best Buy steelbook releases of Sherlock Holmes series & Clash of Titans series both suffer from "first one works, second one doesn't" syndrome. Neither of the 2nd movies (Game of Shadows / Wrath of the Titans, respectively) came with digital copy or UV, yet when inserted, are recognized as "Game of Shadows [digital copy]+[Ultraviolet] is not eligible for D2D conversion" and "Wrath of the Titans 3D + Blu-Ray + [Digital Copy]+[Ultraviolet] is not eligible for D2D conversion." If they already came with UV, I wouldn't be trying to convert them, silly gooses! Again, the Part 1 of each worked perfectly. Though Sherlock Holmes I think said something about [French] (which it's not), but still converted fine, as far as I can tell.

Ohh, and of course the Lord of the Rings Extended Edition Trilogy Blu-Ray in the uber-nice packaging doesn't work at all. Kinda annoyed with that. And personally I'd love it if it came bundled with the theatrical if/when it DOES work. I've already bought the DVDs twice including theatrical & Extendeds. I'd hate to have to get like quadruple dipped JUST to have the theatricals in addition to the extended on UV.

I think there should be a rule that if you convert an extended or director's or unrated cut, you should automatically get the theatrical version too. Just my 2c. Maybe that's a negotiation with the studios. It just "seems right." Seems kind of silly not to include the lower-end movie with purchase of the higher end one, kind of like getting HD/SD along with HDX purchase.

So, who wants to start compiling the master list and keeping it updated as more errors are discovered or as errors are corrected?

                        ^_^

Some of the titles that you list are not eligible and the program is correct. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Terminator 1 and 2.

Re: VUDU AT HOME: DISC-TO-DIGITAL Bugs?

Here are the discs that I've come across that are not matching properly.

                              UNABLE TO VERIFY DISC:

                              Celeste and Jesse Forever (Blu-Ray)
                              Everything Must Go (Blu-Ray)
Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (Blu-Ray)
                              The X-Files: I Want to Believe (Blu-Ray)
                              Spider-Man 2 (Blu-Ray)
                              The FBI Story (DVD)

Frantic/Presumed Innocent (Blu-Ray) is coming up as "Not Eligible" and I'm wondering whether or not this is due to the fact that it is a double feature on one disc.

Also, is there a reason that certain movies are not offering choices regarding Unrated versions. Not a huge deal, but The 40-Year-Old Virgin Blu-Ray only gives me the option of purchasing the Theatrical version. Same with Knocked Up. I understand if there is a reason for this, and that's fine. I'm just wondering if this will require a trip to my local Wal-Mart or not.

                              Thanks!
