I don't get "upset" with a pattern of repeated quality and customer commitment failures -- it's not worth the stress and emotional energy -- I just choose to never do business with the company anymore, along with pursuing a "remedy" for any "damages" if it's appropriate to do so and a sufficient one not already offered and accepted. I have a relatively short list of companies with which I will never do business again.

Public embarrassment (impacting Public Image, Public Goodwill, and Brand Value) that indirectly affects revenue and direct $ loss of revenue, or a remedy that comes out of the balance sheet's bottom line (their profit) . . . including a clear and likely potential for these . . . are the ONLY things corporations understand and react to.

Explain to us why we should EVER bother pre-ordering with Vudu or Walmart again?

I'm with you on this grreymage.

This is NOT the first occurrence, or even the second occurrence of Wal-Mart/VUDU inability to meet pre-order delivery commitments. It's not as if the December 10th deadline wasn't known until last week. It's been out there for months! Failure to meet pre-order delivery dates established well in advanced has become the norm. Furthermore, there's absolutely NO excuse for it not having been corrected by now so that it NEVER happens again! In my work . . . through three different careers, multiple people were summarily terminated for multiple repeats of the same quality and customer commitment failures as that level of gross ineptitude, incompetence and negligence were considered absolutely and utterly unacceptable. The concept is Irreversible Corrective Action, and it's apparent that neither Wal-Mart nor VUDU understand it. It's not Rocket Science, it's rather simple, and the term is quite self-explanatory.

I would like to know what -- in detail -- Wal-Mart and VUDU are doing to put in place an effective irreversible corrective action to ensure that this never, ever, occurs again, from now to the end of time. We are their paying customers -- the reason they're able to remain in business -- and they OWE US a detailed explanation about what they're doing to correct it.

I'm not going to lose sleep over it or get ulcers, but I'm NOT happy . . . I'm greatly dismayed and sorely disappointed. The likelihood of me doing any more business with Wal-Mart, for any reason, is so near zero at this point that it may as well be zero. I'm coming to the conclusion that neither Wal-Mart nor VUDU care about meeting customer delivery commitments, and they're just "blowing smoke" to try to placate people while continuing to stumble and fumble onward with "Business As Usual."

If I want something the day it comes out I WANT IT THE DAY IT COMES OUT!
I would have just bought it at the store normally if I knew I wouldnt recieve it!

Nobody I know that got this Walmart pre-order has recieved it yet....

When is it going to come??? And What is going to be done to compensate us unhappy customers???
Unfortunately I think we will get nothing. It's an unfortunate side effect of Vudu having to rely on the studio to make good on the shipments. I think basically Vudu is at the mercy of the studios here. I think Vudu can't/won't compensate anyone probably due to how much this would cost them. Upset customers only last for a while and they will weather the storm.

I ordered this months ago and as of today it still hasn't slipped. They use some garbage shipping service so even if it ships tomorrow, Monday, the day before release, it will not arrive for 5-6 days.

I have done probably 20 of these but this is probably the last one. No price advantage and what is the point of pre-ordering if they can't get it in the mail to arrive when claimed when they have had my cash for months.
    Estimated Delivery:
    Saturday, 12/14/2013

Release date for both of these alleged pre-orders was today 12/10/2013

Clearly Walmart/VUDU doesn't understand the concept of getting you a pre-order on release date.

Remind me why I gave you my money months in advance so you could get the pre-orders to me 4 days AFTER release date?

This isn't probably going to happen. The pre-order cards that they had out for this movie are no longer in the stores that I shop at, so my guess is they have been pulled in all stores ?

I want to redeem my pre-purchase on Despicableme2 today by December 5, 2013 so the Walmart exclusive Blu-ray Gift set can be mailed to me by December 10, 2013.

You should have the URL to redeem the code on the card/box that you purchased at the store for the pre-order.

Perhaps you already have these but not everyone does and may find some value to them. Also I have only paid $18.96 for some of the pre-order titles I have purchased if you get them at the right time. Additionally from my observation I haven't seen too many Blu-ray combo packs that come in at your mythical $15 price point on Amazon. Most come in between $17.99 and $22.99 depending on the title with the average settling in around $20 making the difference only $5. Well worth it to me but obviously not to you. To each his own.
Right, I almost always have the "bonus movie". The exception was Twilight. My wife wanted this series so we bought the new Twilight movie when it was available for preorder because it came with the first movie also. Maybe they should have a version of preorders that come with a free movie of your choice on Vudu.

Oh, and this isn't a movie I would buy on Blu-ray either. I don't spend extra for Blu-ray when buying animated movies for the kids because we really can't tell a difference in the quality of the picture.

You're right about me overstating the savings from buying "new" DVDs on Amazon. You would save around $5 to $6 buying the DVD on Amazon after it releases, but as much as $10 buying a new releases as a used DVDs...which I also do many times (depending on the movie). Take Skyfall, I love the Bond films, but in my opinion Skyfall is the worst Bond film and I wasn't going to buy it, but when I found a "like-new" Blu-ray copy on Amazon for less than $10 I bought it and saved myself at least $10. Of course I could have saved myself even more and not bought the movie at all. Of course I don't always get to have a digital copy on Vudu...but that's okay because I own about 350 400 other movies that are not on Vudu and I have Blu-ray players attached to all my TVs. But many times the title is available for D2D and even once my used DVD had the UltraViolet code in it and it hadn't already been redeemed.
