    Re: Missing Movies

I am missing some Flixster titles, and some from sub/family Vudu accounts. I just want them to reappear

Note NO titles are "lost", everything in the UV locker will show up again once it's fixed. Also, this doesn't affect titles that were acquired originally through VUDU, just those redeemed or added to UV through another partner.
So would that include movies acquired in a linked account through vudu? My sub accounts are literally missingba thousand each. They weren't acquired strictly through other providers. Many of them were vudu acquired titles.

Account linking is done through UV, and effectively what happens is the sub account movies are "imported" into the main account. I don't know enough about the details of sub accounts, etc (not really my area) but I would imagine it's the same cause.

Jake, would you know by any chance when this will be fixed and when we will have our movies back???

          Thanks

            Re: Missing Movies

I compared the list of movies that I should have to the movies that are still in my library. Some people mentioned that they were only missing titles acquired via linked services. This doesn't seem to be the case for me. There is really no pattern with the missing titles. Some were redeemed on other sites, some were redeemed on Vudu, some were the sign up freebies from UVVU, some were purchased directly from Vudu and the majority were converted via Vudu at home D2D.

UVVU says I have 2436 titles in my library, but I noticed that there are duplicates included in this number (ie. Bad Boys is showing twice. Once as acquired via the Sony site and once via Vudu.) So, this number should be closer to 2100+.
My vudu library is only showing 1735.

But, based on the mixture of the missing titles and how they were acquired, this definitely seems like a Vudu problem and not a UVVU problem.

Thanks for your response. Curious however that there are people who didn't get effected

I believe the UVVU library number includes the number of TV episodes, so it is not easy to compare the 2 totals. My UVVU number is about 1000 more than my Vudu number, because for me it is counting episodes as individual titles.

It may be surprising to the very dedicated users on this forum, but the VAST majority of VUDU users don't have > 1000 titles in a UV locker Also, there may have been additional circumstances required to trigger it.

As far as timeline: it's not a VUDU fix, and while we will be pushing on it frequently, it's up to UltraViolet to fix and deploy.

But what is weird is that this is pretty much only happening in Vudu. Not in MGO, Flixster, or CinemaNow. Sounds like a Vudu issue

I was never comparing my vudu library to myuv library. I just my vudu library had over 2000 movies, then last Tuesday it went down to 1899.

                        Regardless of >1000 or not.

Some are missing dozens or more, some a handful. But even people that have only 50 or 100 movies in their Vudu to be missing say 6 is still a big deal.

I just think it is unfair that it has been 8 days and there is not much progress. It can't be a UV issue if the titles are appearing in other retailers. This has to be on Vudu's end

Just wanted to take a moment and thank vudu support for giving us all some updates today.

I tend to think it is a uvvu issue.

While my Flixster account retains everything and all movies that disappeared from vudu still show there and are playable, when linking to an empty Flixster account it does not appear that all movies are importing properly... although but it is hard to tell since it can take a long time for everything to show up there... movies that are missing from vudu are definitely importing there though.

Keep in mind that each retailer has their own unique software and way of parsing data from UV, so an issue stemming from the uvvu end may manifest itself differently at each retailer.

I know the Vudu/UVVU comparison isn't accurate. It was just giving me a rough idea. However, I do know that a couple of weeks ago I had 2105 movies in my Vudu library. Today I have 1735.

What's with the add a new movie then one randomly disappears though. Well maybe this will finally break my UV addiction because I haven't bought anything in a week. Sadly I got those Groupons so I'll eventually have something then just wait and see if UV gets it's crap together and stick to Netflix/Hulu until then. All these seems to happen on UV around the point CinemaNow and Flixster get bought by other providers.
