The CCU player is incorrectly signaling the TV that the content is HDR10 when it is not - the color/brightness issue seen is because the actual colorspace is (SDR) Rec.709 (or Dolby Vision), but the TV is being told it is (HDR10) BT.2020 / ST2086. It's likely a bug in handling "Dolby Vision Profile 4" streams (a format that has both SDR/Main10 and Dolby Vision embedded in a compatible way).

We are working with Google to get it fixed, but I assume it will require a firmware update.
Hopefully when it's fixed, it will support Vudu HDR-10...

How is your connection? Did you have to do any special settings in setup menu for Dolby Atmos?

I haven't tried the Chromecast but I have my Nvidia Shield connected to the Oppo and I am able to get Atmos. Oppo has indicated that the HDMI input can get HDR-10 but not Dolby Vision under the latest beta firmware. I'm not sure if it will ever support Dolby Vision on this port?

I requested that they let Vudu know however they were quick to distance themselves from the issue, basically it's up to us to let Vudu know.

It's a darn shame these big companies can't communicate with each other!! I've tried opening a case with Vudu support and I got nothing. I've tried posting about it here on the forum, nothing. So I suppose we'll just have to wait and hope it gets fixed, but as it is right now, my UHD titles on Vudu are unwatchable.

I've noticed this same issue with all UHD titles in my library. When I tried with the same CCU on my Sony X850C, it cast Fantastic Beasts UHD just fine. Now trying that same movie on same CCU on my Sony A1E (big upgrade on TV, ayyy), that same movie and F8 of the Fuious has like sun blaring blown out colors and blown out details. Is there a fix incoming for this? Only notice with VUDU app recently.

    Edit:
    Cast firmware version: 1.26.92486
TV: 2017 Sony A1E OLED (connected directly to TV, HDMI 3 I believe)
Movies: F8 of the Furious (both extended and theatrical), Fantastic Beasts. Only two I tried so far.

I noticed there is a new Chromecast firmware listed on their website , but it has yet to hit my CCU.

I'm hopeful that this has a fix for this problem we are experiencing with the VUDU app / UHD.

Hdr10 Panasonic tv here, chromecast ultra giving terrible UHD playback with burnt out whites and poor color. No adjustment to my various modes on tv result in correct playback (I'm a TV editor so have a reasonable understanding of these things). No word from Google about a fix, or Vudu about hdr10 support?

Not at home now, but this is a recent development so believe it is the cc ultra's latest firmware...
