Does it really matter? Unless the title is on CinemaNow's list and not Vudu's list (shouldn't happen, but there are a few right now) then why not just take it to Walmart and add it to your locker through Vudu? Results should be the same. You will see the movie in CinemaNow and Vudu.

You make a very good point. I really don't see why every one is so anxious to use this service(which seems to not find any ones movies) versus just taking them into Walmart?

We're "anxious" because it's so much more convenient to do it yourself at home. However, I think we will find that there will always be discs that the program will either not be able to recongnize or it will show you the correct movie and tell you it's not on the list when it is on the list. This is when we can use Walmart for those exceptions...when you have a double feature disc, for example, that the program doesn't recognize but a human does.

Why not just wait for vudu's at home service in a week or two? Surely it will be better than Cinema Now's version.

Well hopefully over time it gets better and then some how for those of us that don't have a Blu-ray drive they can figure a way to let us certify we have the Blu-ray disc.
If not each person is going to have their choice of convenient and right now Walmart d2d works for me

CinemaNow REALLY needs to add Blu-ray disc support. I have Superman The Movie on Blu-ray and want HD rights for it. At least if I had it on DVD I could pay $5 for an HD version but I don't. Vudu is bringing Blu-ray support but they only offer Superman The Movie in SD. I guess I really just wish Vudu would get it in HD.

Vudu actually has both SD and Blue Ray for "Superman: The Movie" available for disc-to-digital

Right, but what he's saying is, whether you select the BD or the DVD on Disc-to-Digital, Superman: The Movie is only available in SD and not HDX, which it should be.

This should be reported as a problem so they can correct it.

Yep. None of my extended, Director's Cuts or Unrated versions come up correct.

I personally did the D2D on Superman: The Movie, paid $5 and only received the SD in Cinemanow and Vudu. The neat thing about it is that i DO own the rights to the High Definition version when it does appear in HDX/HD, it will also unlock at that time. As long as uvvu.com knows this you should be good, just gotta wait it out.

Re: CinemaNow and Rovi launch beta at home D2D service

Here's the wacky thing. On a couple of the movies I got through CinemaNow that were supposed to have HD transfers, like BATS and GHOSTBUSTERS, I only got SD versions in my Ultraviolet locker and Vudu collection, even though Vudu sells HDX versions of both films.

For these titles, I got rights to SD and HD versions in my Ultraviolet locker but Vudu doesn't have them in HDX:

                                RUNAWAY
                                TEARS OF THE SUN
                                THE MASK OF ZORRO

I wish there was more consistency here between the three entities.
