Re: The "Incorrect Aspect Ratio" Thread ... thank you and let's bring awareness here
thank you to prk and all involved ... I'm new to streaming and love it but hate wrong aspects ... I want to help and anyone may contact me ... I used to contribute to dvdbeaver and own over 50,000 DVDs and Blu-ray ... I believe in the present and future of streaming and the hosts must be educated to the desires of the audience .... I was beginning to buy many films but stopped when I realized the danger of being ripped off too many times by radical deviations from the OAR ... some cropping is understandable perhaps but they must realise the original aspect means more sales by save collectors who will be the most active buyers ...
btw I believe Google play/youtube does a much better job as far as I've seen in the few months I've been buying and Amazon is bad
I wish the hosts like VUDU etc would list the ratio ASAP
THANKS please feel free to contact me for anything

Re: The "Incorrect Aspect Ratio" Thread
The aspect ratio for Bridget Jones Baby is incorrect. The OAR is 2:35 to 1, Vudu's version is 1:78 to 1.

Re: The "Incorrect Aspect Ratio" Thread
The first two episodes of Quantum Leap Season 1, Genesis Part 1 and Part 2 are both zoomed in at 16:9 instead of 4:3 ratio. They play this way on every device I have tried including a Roku 3, a Tivo Roamio Pro, an iPhone 6s Plus and through the web. It appears these two episodes are the only ones formatted incorrectly.Originally posted by Jerry8169 View PostI got this on the pilot episode, but I was watching it on my new smasung smart tv, when I changed to my Xbox, it went to the normal 4:3 that it should be. It wasn't stretched, it was zoomed in, I'm looking for the settings on this tv to see if I can find the one that caused that
It would be great if someone could look into this and fix these episodes. As far as I know these episodes are formatted correctly on every other streaming service.

However, it is showing as a full screen on my HD tv, which it shouldn't as it was never shot in widescreen. It should be the older 4x3 aspect, not 16x9. I didn't see any tv series in the list, but I didn't go through every page of the post either, so if someone else already posted for this show, I apologize for posting it again.

Hi, just found out that the Sinatra McQueen film, Never So Few is incorrectly displayed at 1.78:1, it is a CinemaScope picture and should be 2.35:1 as it is during the opening credits.

Re: The "Incorrect Aspect Ratio" Thread
It looks like they've removed the HD version for Invisible Man (at least, I can't choose it as an option). As noted above (but not in the first thread), Invisible Man is stretched in HDX version, but is correct in SD.Originally posted by Capt-Cupcake View PostDid everyone get the email about upgrading all HD copies to HDX? This is troublesome. Some of The universal monster films (Frankenstein, Mummy, Invisible Man) are in the incorrect "stretched" aspect ratio in HDX only. On those films, the HD version is the only version that you can watch (and the SD version). The HDX versions are just awful
I'm afraid they're going to take away the HD versions, and those films will only be able to be viewed in standard DEF because those HDXs are stretched so badly
There are other movies where there is still an HD version available to choose from, so I'm not sure what's going on.

Wild Bunch (1969)
I just purchased the Wild Bunch. During the credits it has the correct aspect ratio. As soon as it passes the credits, it zooms in and has the incorrect aspect.
