Is there any fix for the dumb error reading disc issue? If it is not one problem it is another with this software. I have tried to get this working on two computers. My PC always comes up with the error reading disc while the laptop says it can not install the software, no matter how many times I delete everything and try again.

I really enjoy Vudu and would like to finally convert my personal library to digital and this promotion going on is the perfect time to do it with as many titles as I have. Can someone with knowledge of how to fix either of these send me a PM so we can go over the steps?

    Thanks

    Having problems with:

053939250121 Forget Paris DVD - There was a problem while verifying this disc.

This is a double-sided DVD. I tried both Widescreen and Fullscreen sides, no change. I tried this on 3 different computers.

What's Your Number Redeemed Ex-Tended Edition redeemed as the normal edition, not extended. Strangely enough, when shared through Ultraviolet, Flixster added the Extended edition (albeit in SD) which does not show up anywhere else except there.

Also, Hot Fuzz and 21 Blu Ray each redeem as DVD when added to the cart (meaning you have to pay DVD price for HDX, not blu ray)

When I did this movie it read as just the Normal DVD Version, not the Extended DVD version.

It is kind of frustrating because it seems like nothing is being done about these errors, or at least not fast enough. Vudu's current promotion is rendered useless when close to a third of titles have errors during conversion. That being said I noticed there are some titles that didn't work before but are now working correctly. These titles are:

    Book of Eli
    True Romance
    Moon

I have done about 60 movies, most were blu rays. Here are the ones I am having issues with:

    1. The first Lord of the Rings - blu ray (as others have mentioned)
    2. Ghostbusters - blu ray (some error about contacting customer service or try again later)
    3. Puss in Boots - blu ray (some error about contacting customer service or try again later)
    4. An Affiar to Remember - blu ray (asks to input the discs name and says they will contact me)
    5. Silverado - DVD (asks to input the discs name and says they will contact me)
    6. Can't Hardly Wait - DVD (some error about contacting customer service or try again later)
    7. A Cool Dry Place - DVD (some error about contacting customer service or try again later)
    8. Fight Club - DVD (some error about contacting customer service or try again later)

I did also have a problem with one of the Die Hard movies (DVD) but I put in the special features disc and it found it that way.

I guess the only way to get these converted is to take them to WalMart? That's too bad as I don't think the 50% off applies to converted copies there...does it?

Sometimes it's just that I bought the disc right when it was first released then later a new cut of some sort came out -- I might be interested, but usually not for full price.

And it would solve what I see, from my own experience using disc-to-digital, is a huge number of issues of the wrong cut coming up for an awful lot of movies.
I think the issues we're seeing with the database are from the Gracenote database. All of the titles I've had issues with in the VuduToGo app seem to be identified properly with the Fixster or CinemaNow apps and they use Rovi but they don't support Blu-ray D2D.

^ Interesting, I tried the non-extended Blu-ray set and the EE option didn't come up for any of them. Guess I'll have to try again, assuming it will let me.

Granted, I had to pay $2.50 for each in-home conversion instead of $1.00, but for these movies it was worth it to me.
I have the LOTR Trilogy on Blu Ray, *not* the Extended version, just the regular. But it came with "digital copy" disks for each film, as well as a "special features" DVD for each film too. And as mentioned previously, the 2nd and 3rd film are properly recognized, but the 1st shows up as "Return of the King" (ie: the 3rd.)

Inspired by your post, I tried the "special feature" DVD for the 1st one instead, and was hopeful for a moment, and then I was presented with this screen:

So now I have a choice between the 2nd and 3rd (extended!) one, still not the 1st (and of course, paying more than the $1 it would be if it just would recognize the Blu Ray, as the 1st!)

    Arrgh.

The DVDs which come in the Blu-ray EE set are also properly recognized as the Extended Editions but the Blu-rays are not. I'm also not willing to spend extra just because of some error in the system.
